All,
I am Patricia, for http://nychairsalon Look, I don't know this girl, but when she says glue, she really probably means Silicon. Silicon being either Mega, or Monkey Bars Silicon. That is the norm in the industry. They were the first in the industry.
OK, to add hair to your head, there are a few basics ways to do it. Silicon, Keratin, Medical Adhesive, Links, or Clip Ins. DONE Correctly, these will not damage your hair! I have done 2000 hair extensions in my career and have never damaged anyones hair on any method, and I have 25 Different Hair Extension Types that I do.
Sure, there are better extensions out there Like Great Lengths, or metal bonding like HairLocs, Remylinks, etc, but not everyone can afford them.
So the silicon won't affect your hair if done right. NOW, the question is, who is this person, what is her experience level, and knowledge of SILICON based extensions?
Those are the questions you need to ask. If she is a pro, has positive sutomer feedback, then you should feel OK with going for her.
If not, do some research, and find a pro.
Good Luck and enjoy

do not use glue. i have a friend that did that and it was hard to get out and did not look natural. and yes, it did damage her hair extensively. it is just like fake nails!
i would try to negotiate with the salon. especially if you are a loyal customer.

Good ones are very expensive. I have the "Great Lengths" ones and they're about $1200-1500. The haor alone costs over $500. Try some of the new clip-on's first and make sure you can commit the time, money and special care that they'll require

Gluing in tracks can, but if you take them out carefully, and comb your scalp out good and shampoo it, than you'll be okay. What happens is when you get it glued, when it dries, the glue sticks more onto your real hair and not the track. They have bond remover that you can purchase and that will help you when you go to take them out because you just can't be yanking them out and don't expect no damage to your hair. Make sure after you take them out you shampoo it good, comb it good, and condition it real good, and you should be fine.

the weave ones that celebrities positioned on destroy your hair. they pull on the hair and go away you with bald patches - see the %. of victoria beckham. additionally they're very costly, regardless of the actuality that do stay in for longer than the different form of extension. the glue in ones are astonishing. I even have had them for over 2 years and that they have got easily HELPED my hair to enhance! i had them put in consistently for approximately 3 months and my hair replaced into two times as thick whilst i eventually took them out. my hairdresser (who's additionally a tricologist) suggested it relatively is considering which you're no longer in a position to get staggering to the inspiration whilst brushing, washing, straightening etc so your roots are in a position to enhance in a manner they might by no potential regularly be able to. they might desire to be redone on prevalent each and every 2 weeks yet they're inexpensive and a series will final a pair of 12 months in case you seem after them. besides the undeniable fact that, continuously have them put in via a expert and dont attemp;t to do them your self or getting a pal to do them. it relatively is how ppl destroy their hair with extensions. the clip in ones might pull your hair out slightly yet as they're common to eliminate and pop out on the top of on a daily basis they do no longer seem to be going to do lots long term harm on your hair. they dont seem as stable or as actual simply by fact the different 2 types however and you may usually tell whilst somebody is donning them.
