I don't understand how it can be viewed as hateful! It's the only one who's "religious/spiritual leader" for lack of a better term died for us so that we may spend an eternity in HEAVEN. How is that hostile? I suppose, if you think you don't need anyone to pay for your sins and insist upon paying for them yourself, that would be called freedom of Choice. Isn't that what everyone Truly wants? The freedom to make up their own mind? But if you decide against Him, just remember; your punishment is self imposed.

A lot of nonsense out there about this one. Roman Empire, Egyptian Empire, Babylonian Empire, Sumarian Empire, Akadian Empire, etc. Seems the polytheistics have thousands of years of experience in conflict over the monotheistics.
Celts did pretty well, while still having some pretty bloodthirsty battles of their own throughout the continent.
Vikings? No such thing. Northmen who went viking? A serious case of conflict being institutionalized.
Africa is full of religions that involved killing each other, as is Asia.
Australia seems to get the peace prize, but they've had their moments. They're still waiting on the Dream Time.
Hindu people? Serious warfare, all the time, at least until they had a common enemy (Britain). Buddhists have had their mass murders in the name of their religion.
Right now, Islam has gotten more aggressive, as it can no longer keep it's people in ignorance of what is out there. They know about freedom. They know about free speech. They know about equality, and the only way they can keep the yoke in place is to give them something to hate.
Won't work. The reformation of Islam is coming. Christianity did it, so have many other religions.
Islam's turn.
I hope it survives.

Generally, you are correct. My theory is it's really about monotheism vs. polytheism. It's easier for everyone to get behind a single God in whose name they can kill infidels.

No; there are actually some (very fringe) militant Hindu sects. Kinda paradoxical, but there you have it.
