I have never felt the need to commit any other "sin." So, why do I have the desires to be with men and not women?

Please don't quote the Old Testament. If you do, you are being just as sinful. Look at your clothes' labels. I guarentee you are wearing cotton. That is sinful too according to the old testament.

Not everybody is meant to be married and have children but, this doesn't mean you have to have sex with men. It is perfectly o.k. to enjoy mens company but this world today has pushed sex all the time everyday or your nothing down every-body's throat so much that it is silly. Many people throughout the ages have lead a perfectly satisfying celibate lifestyle.

As far as the Old Testament goes, God told the Israelites they were and were not to do certain things. This was God's way of setting the Israelites apart from all the other cultures they were surrounded by. He is a Holy God and He wants His people to be Holy. In this way, people could readily distinguish the Israelites from all others.
I can tell you that there are a lot of factors in determining whether our emotions line up with what's right or not. If we're led by the Holy Spirit then our emotions should eventually line up with what the Word of God says. Have you ever gossiped, lied, lusted or fantasized, stolen, falsely accused someone of something? These are all sins and there are lots more. I don't know of anyone who hasn't committed sins, myself included.
God proclaims homosexuality to be a sin because it does't line up with the structure and outline He made for His creation. This structure and outline can be found throughout scripture.
God gave us free will and He lets us chose what we will. And as far as the desires go, there are reasons (there always are) why you feel the way you do.

Actually, you just haven't found the female that will satisfy you in that special way (not meaning sexually).
The desires you have are a choice that you make. You won't be allowed to have access to that person until you are able to conquer those desires and needs.
I don't mention to sound like I'm downing you (because I'm not), but the truth of the matter is simply homosexuality is a sin. It is confirm in the New Testament. These are the beliefs of Christians, so agree or disagreeing is your simply your choice, but the lifestyle is a temptation caused by Satan. That's my understanding. The next step is yours. Take care.

I'm not really sure that you are asking because you want to hear my answer. I suspect you are just lashing out because it sounds like you've already made up your mind and made choices you plan to stick with. However, I am going to answer anyway in case there is some small part of you that really wants to know or someone that comes to this page who is on the fence.

First, let me say that God loves you. He loves you just as he loves me. We're all sinners and it says in the Bible that if a man commits any seen he has committed all sins. So, murder, homosexuality, cheating on your spouse, lying--we're all sinners. It is only through Christ Jesus that we can be cleansed of those sins. It isn't that homosexuality is a worse sin than lying or stealing. But it is a sin. Don't get mad at me. I didn't say it. The Bible says it.

Second, I want to add that I had a very close relative who was gay. Unfortunately, he had unsafe sex and he did contract AIDS and died a few years back after suffering horribly. He came out of the homosexual lifestyle about four years before he died and recommited his life to God. I have a lot of peace knowing he is in heaven and he no longer suffers.

I'm not sure why you don't desire girls but men. I do know that there are people who have overcome this and been able to change. But as in all things it is a choice. I also believe we make a choice whether to cheat on a spouse or not by putting ourselves in situations where we have the opportunity. I can tell you as a believer who believes that the Bible is God's divine word what I would do. I would be alone and keep myself from friends, bars, meeting places where I would be tempted to lie with another person of the same sex. I would make new friends and spend time with family and avoid the situations that allowed me to sin. Just as if I was an alcoholic, I would no longer be able to hang out in the bars with my old friends who drink and try to get me to drink. Because, even though someone said not to quote the Bible, the truth is that it is very clear. If you believe the Bible is the divinely inspired word of God (and I do), you can't just take the parts you like and throw the parts you don't like away. I can't decide that I don't like so-and-so and want to be mean to her, so I'm going to ignore the part about forgiving my brother.

And this issue is not just addressed in the old testament. I'm sure God knew that this would come up and people would say that we live under the new law of the new testament, so in the new testament he discusses homosexuality as well.

Matthew 19:5-9 Jesus says marriage is between one man and one woman.

Romans 1:26-27 Says that men were lying with men and they were given up to their lusts committing what is shameful. It also says "what is against nature."

The Bible is very clear about homosexuality being against God's will and what he wants for us. It doesn't mean he doesn't love you but it does break your fellowship with him. If you accept Jesus Christ as your savior, God can help with the rest. I've seen people cured of drugs, alcoholism, and even seen two come out of the homosexual lifestyle. This isn't something that happens overnight, but if you have Jesus in your heart and you want to please God it is a process and you can change.

I understand that this probably is not what you wanted to hear, but know that it is said with love and in the hopes that you will find Jesus Christ through all of this. God bless!

If certainly Allah is the comparable God by using fact the God that Christian have confidence in, then God looks at your coronary heart and not the outward visual attraction. I struggled as you probably did and that i had to bypass by using all the strategies bending soreness that faith places us by using...there's no longer something incorrect with being gay. it is no longer a sin and it is no longer a ailment! My family contributors disowned me for a mutually as once I instructed them, yet they are coming around, and my sister who's in a wing of the catholic church is the only one which won't be in a position to deal with me. once I stated that God looks on the middle, I advise the Deep motives, the non-public motives you have and no person ELSE! in case you prefer to stay your existence certain with the help of custom, then proceed accepting what others show you how to already know blindly. new testament qotes:
Romans 1:24-32 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

26Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

28Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. 29They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

Does this sound like you?

How about the New Testament, Romans chapter 1.........

"18The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
21For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.

24Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.

Because it isn't. If God created you - and if you are of an Abrahamic faith, you believe that God created you - then he made you what you are, so how could what he made you (gay) be a sin? Error, error, does not compute.

Same reason I can't "choose" to be with a guy, you can't choose to be with a woman, there is no such thing as god or sin and it is not a choice.
