This may be a surprise, but I don't know enough about her to have an opinion. However, I do believe it's unwise for a psychic to state an absolute, & I'd be very skeptical. (As in the case stated here; what she "knew" was UNTRUE.) I also draw the line at "hearing" the dead. It's really quite simple to do a "reading" based on observations & bits of information the person might not even be aware they're revealing. Still, psychic (legitimate!) abilities do exist, & the most awesome is someone who has precognition that never, never fails. True psychics are not explicit since their senses are far more abstract. It's more like feeling the essence of something, & can be very much on target. I wouldn't DREAM of charging for a reading, which I sometimes do if asked, & if I "feel" a connection. I saw Sylvia only once on TV, & felt her to be a very pompous, & self oriented person.

I'm don't believe her for the simple fact is- She is just too flaky.

I do believe in psychic, and that we all have a psychic connection.
Some more than other. But no in my eye's I wouldn't waste a nickle on going to see her!
And speaking on the lines of money, -If she is for real, how come she is charging AT ALL? A fair price too from what I have read on line.
Yes money does talk and her, Well BS walks.
She is right up there with Jimmy and Tammy Faye Baker!
Ya, never her of those lucky lotto number coming from her mouth. Tell me then I'll believe her!
The only real think she can predict that will come true is,"How much more she can milk out of her faithful believers!"
Sylvia Browne is no John Edwards by far.
I'd trust Jo Jo's psychic line before her.

Just my opinion.

I find with all of these so-called psychics, if you really pay attention to what they're saying, and how they get the person being "read" to actually provide significant information to them, you'll see there is no reason to believe these people can do anything other than lie to you. Example: I've seen Sylvia Browne talk to a very distraught woman in the audience of a talkshow. The woman asked if her grandmother could forgive her for not going to her funeral. She was genuinely upset at this -- so what else was Sylvia going to say, except "Of course she forgives you my dear!" The woman broke down in tears - thanking Sylvia for her "reading." the audience breaks out in applause for Sylvia's "skill" and "gift." It was THEN that Sylvia said, "why did you miss her funeral in the first place?" THAT is where I said to myself, "WHY doesn't the grandmother simply tell Sylvia -- she must know why her own granddaughter missed her funeral!" The woman replied that she missed a connecting flight, and was laid over for a day. Sylvia then replies, "Oh, honey, I'm sure she would understand that..." So, what Sylvia is saying is, she THINKS Granny would be ok with it -- meaning she never got a MESSAGE from Granny saying it was okay!!

James Randi has proven time and again that NONE of these people can do ANYTHING like talk to the dead. Think about it for a second - WHY would your dead grandmother (for example) need someone else to be able to talk to you, instead of simply doing it directly? Is she hanging around a psychic's office, waiting, hoping that you'll stop in for a reading? Is she right by your side right now, gently prodding you to go to a psychic so she can talk to you? My guess, based on everything I've ever seen, read, watched or heard of, is NO.

This kind of charlatan is all too common, and has far too many innocent people to prey upon. The founder of Skeptic magazine, Michael Shermer, put it very well when he said, "It's easy to talk to dead people, anyone can do it. The challenge is getting them to talk back to you...."

She's a fraud , I once believed in her till after watching her on the Montel show several times . Most of the time if someone asks a health question all to often she says get your thyroid checked that's your problem . And it conveniently can't be found to be true on the show .

Sylvia Browne is not a fraud or crazy. I don't judge a book by it's cover nor will I judge her. She has helped solve so many crimes.
Everyone has been given a gift, whether we chose to recognize it or not is one thing. I shall not discuss my gift here.
I do think she charges a high price to talk to you for one hour. I, myself, have not made that call but she charges $750.00 per hour or reading.

I think Sylvia does have some psychic abilities, but she also guesses a lot, and when she said she knew someone was dead, and they were found alive, and then said the coal miners would be all found alive, and only 1 was found alive, I lost all respect for her, and she never even apologized for her mistakes.
I think John Edward & Lisa Williams are the best mediums ever!

I can only suggest that "legitimate psychic" is a contradiction in terms.

I'm not sure about the psychic part, but she has done loads of research on Gnosticism, which I follow. These are the lost gospels found at Nag Hammandi.
