There are hundreds of different kinds of martini's.
You make them with Vodka,Gin and Rum.

Go to this site...
It gives you recipes for any martini you might be looking for or what to make to try it out.
www.swankmartini.com/martini-recipes

My personal favorite is the Appletini

1 part Apple Vodka
1 part Apple Puckers
1 part Apple Juice
1 part sour mix

and a cherry in the bottom

You will learn one thing with this question though. Even though you get recipes or find recipes. Everyone makes them different. Everyone has there own unique way. Every bar as there own way. So if you know how you like your drinks make sure and tell them politely this is how you would like it.

Have a great one...

Martinis today are so much different then years ago where there were like 3-4 types. Today there are many types of martinis. Gin, vodka, apple, chocolate, mango, etc:Some you taste will be just alcohol only, others fruity but not so strong

The main ingredient to a martini is vodka. So you can mix virtually anything with it. Raspberry vodka is awesome with a splash of cranberry juice, shaken real good you can't even taste the vodka. Chocolate Martini's and Apple Martini's are awesome too. Hmmmmm... I getting a craving!!!

There are all types of martini's, but I like mine with 3 parts vodka, 1 part extra dry vermouth, and an olive. It tast like vodka, with no aftertaste, and the olive is the second best part. What else do olives go with? I don't know, but they go great in martinis.

A plain martini is usually very dry and bitter tasting to me. But thankfully there are tons of new sweet martini's. My favoritie is white chocolate raspberry....YUMMY

One. Made with gin and dry vermouth. The quantity of vermouth is negligible. Garnished with an olive.

Anything else is not a "real" Martini, but there are hundreds of cocktails referred to as "Martini" with everthing under the sun them.

Theres all kinds of flavors. I don't like the flavored ones like the apple and chocolate etc.. I like a dry martini with the olive in it.

They call just about anything in a cocktail glass a martini, but it is really only dry gin, a bit of vermouth, shaken or stirred with ice, strained into a glass and garnished with a twist of lemon peel or an olive.
