some background info... i am a freshman away at college, my gf is a senior in high school we have been together for a year. i can frequently go about a month or two without seeing her. i havent done anything that even the most protective girlfriend would be upset about and i had no intentions of doing anything like that. she thinks that she is holding me back becuase i avoid situations that would could lead to her getting hurt- partying too hard, dancing with other girls, etc. she doesnt want to hold me back from the "college experience" so she is starting to be very lenient with me...

Yes, because it's wrong to give permission. Anything besides monogamy is morally wrong, because emotions inevitably get hurt, assuming any are there.

Morally this is very wrong. There could many things that your specific other is trying to do or is already doing. A) you could be getting tested right now to see if given the opportunity and permission to sleep with another person, would you? B) your specific other is already planning on or is sleeping with someone else and is trying to get rid of the guilt.

Its not a smart idea to put your relationship through this. Sit down with your partner and ask why they have given you permission to put your relationship through this kind of test. Find out if they are interested in someone else. Make sure all the boundaries are clear. If the permission is still there and your conscience is clear of all guilt and wrong doing then go for it however once again this is morally wrong, but only you have to pay the consequences for your actions. Good luck on your decision.

interesting..your significant other wants you to be with another person? I would consider that an open relationship which means the person giving you permission is most likely already having relations with another.

If you have permission, it's considered an "open" or "swingers" relationship.
