My daughter has been really enjoying finger painting lately she love the texture. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of other textures or recipes we could use for finger painting thanks allote.

You could add sand to the paint to give her fingers a different texture. Also try shaving cream on a table that's safe for water. You won't be able to keep the picture but kids love to wipe it clean and start again.

I enjoyed fingerpainting with my classes and found that the children loved to use chocolate pudding. You can purchase it in a large can from a store like Costco or Sam's Club. When teaching colors, I would purchase the vanilla flavor and then tint with food coloring. The children enjoyed the tactile experience, the art experience and the name of the color was reinforced when used in this manner. It would be a good idea to check the ingredients on the can to make sure that your child or her friends with milk allergies will be able to paint with pudding since it will most likely contain dried milk.
Children always love thinking of their little fingers as paintbrushes. Thank you for the opportunity to provide input.

Adding salt or sugar gives the paint a grainy feel. One of the two makes the paint a little sparkly (I can't remember which one sorry)
Painting with shaving cream is also a lot of fun, and it can carry on to fun in the bath tub.

something fun and easy and cheap is called "puffy" paint. mix regular foam shaving cream (get the cheap stuff) with liquid glue and food coloring. it makes a fun texture and when the picture dries it will be "puffy".

men's shaving cream(not gel) is fun kids love that. you can also add salt to fingerpaint to give it a grainy texture
You can make your own fingerpaint
Basic non cook recipe
2 cups flour
2 cups water
food coloring or small amounts of kool aid
mix together, divide into small portions. I like to use yogurt cups.

try using food coloring on yogurt that way if she eats it, its safe and non-toxic
