Carbs are the "quick" energy fixes that burn first. That's why long-distance runners bulk up on carbs before a big run--they get instant energy. Your body uses what's easiest and quickest first: simple carbohydrtates. You don't start burning fat until you're about 20 minutes into your cardio workout. So a cardio workout of at least 25-30 minutes is necessary in order to burn fat.

Carbohydrates are first; they are known to have a 'protein sparing' effect; Assuming we're talking about aerobic excercise, if continued longer, fats will then be burned. Protein is last, and is very dangerous if it reaches that point, because it indicates that muscle tissue is being burned up.

substrates from proteins, carbohydrates and fats will always be metabolized during exercise. the type and duration of the exercise determines the ratios of each that will be metabolized for energy...
excess sugars are first stored as glycogen in either the liver or skeletal muscle. glycogen is the primary energy source used during high-intensity exercise as the body can not metabolize fatty acids at a high enough rate to supply enough ATP. fatty acids are the primary energy source utilized during low-intensity exercise.
if high-intensity exercise is performed the body will burn more free fatty acids after training. if low-intensity exercise is performed the body will metabolize more glucose after training. this is one of many reason why staying in the "fat burning" zone during exercise is truly not optimum for fat loss.

well...certainly not carbs. cause carbs relli dont exist in your body after digestion cause they are stored as simple sugar and then energy then fat so logicaly energy will burn then fat and muscle (muscle only if you diet and exercise in the wrong ways)
