my grandpuppies (pugs) do the same thing.... they store their treats til someone is at home..... also won't eat food, unless someone is in close proximity to their food bowls... i think that just feels safe and they like company
Be Blessed!

My dog is mostly the same way. Treats aren't really a treat unless I'm around. He hesitates before taking treats from strangers, too....unless we've gone walking (the three of us) together or he knows them well, he'll very politely take the treat and then gently place it on the ground.
Of course there are different levels of "treat" food though, too. :) Try dropping some bread pieces smeared with braunschweiger or liverwurst sometime when you leave for work....I'd be willing to bet they won't be there when you get back.
My dog will chew on fresh beef hooves or soup marrow bones whether I'm there or not. Its good for his teeth, healthier than grain-based treats, takes up quite a bit of time for him to get through it, and releases doggie endomorphins while he chews on it.
Consider getting your pet a pet, that is, another dog. They'll keep each other company while you're gone....Dogs *HATE* to be alone and, in their eyes, even a partial pack, to provide backup in case its needed, is better than being solo.

Seperation anxiety. The dog misses it's master and is a little out of sorts until you return. I had a border collie that was my constant companion for 14 years. Ever since she was a pup she was totally MY dog. She would never eat unless I was in the house. She would literally starve herself if left for longer periods of time. It is a way for the dog to show it's distress over being left alone. Even if it is only for short periods like while your at work. Sometimes it can be hard to deal with but just shows that it feels very conected to you and feels most comfortable in your presence.

Once a dog gets older and wiser they learn not to eat while you are gone so they dont have to go to the bathroom. In case you havent noticed dogs usually have to go right after they eat or drink.. so when you are gone for indefinite or long periods of time most dogs learn not to eat so they wont have an accident. My dogs never eat when I am gone.. I always fill the bowl before I leave just in case but they dont eat it until I come home and then they gobble it up while I sit in the living room.. then they want right outside to go potty.

Separation anxiety. My Jack Russell terrier does this. When I leave the house, I always throw jerky treats on the floor. When I get home, they are still laying there. As soon as he sees me, he eats them. It is so funny. Its also a way of saying, I am so happy to see you. LOL..

First, prey tension and killing yet another animal would not advise the dogs is human aggressive. the two are very various issues. 2nd, your dogs has a feeling of scent such as you won't have self belief. He knew that they weren't different canines. I haven't any clue why your dogs introduced the child bunny interior. i would not be stunned if he killed them. this is what canines do. canines are predators, bunnies are prey.

For many dogs, their biggest fear is being left alone. Obviously, your dog becomes so upset he doesn't want to eat when you're gone. I'm not certain how you can treat this, perhaps some other respondents have some ideas.

Many times dogs feel like they have to "save" their food in case they don't get any more. This is especially true with dogs for the pound... those who have been strays and have had to "save" their food out of fear of when their next meal might come. I wouldn't worry about it. As long as he eats he will be fine. If he gets jungry enough when you are gone, he;ll eat.

Some dogs are just like that. My neighbor's dog won't eat unless someone is in the kitchen with him.

He is more relaxed and comfortable with eating when you are home. He doesn't want to break the connection to you.
Many animals will feel uncomfortable while their owners/family are away. This is quite typical behaviour.
