I work out for an hour everyday, both cardio and strength so I don't know if I can do much more. But a friend of mine said that if you work your abs more you will be more likely to lose the gut. Is this true? I mean, will I be more likely to lose fat around the middle if I work my arms and legs less and work my core more? I thought any type of exercise would pretty much lose the same amount of fat in the same amount of places - this of course, doesn't account for the intensity of the exercise. I am wondering if location of muscles used corresponds to the location of the fat burned. I do work my abs a lot. But if I put my emphasis on my core and away from other areas will I be more likely to lose that belly fat. I feel I look pretty good in the other areas but I need to get rid of a little belly blob.

Fat is used from the part of the body that it has been on the least time. As fat ages, the blood supply diminishes. In order for fat to be consumed, the capillaries, etc have to be re established. Of course if you exercise certain muscles the circulation there will increase and you will get increased benefit

Crunches are for the purpose of building muscles mainly in the upper abdomen. However, they are the key to six-pack abs if you have little belly fat.

To reduce belly fat, good excersises are running/jogging, jumping rope, and jumping jacks. These are cardiovascular/aerobic exercises. Other cardiovascular/aerobic exercises are swimming, hiking, and step-climbing. Do these and you'll have no belly fat in no time.

Big causes of belly fat are bad posture/slouching because one of the biggest jobs of the abdomen is to hold the body up. Stress is another big factor because when the body is stressed, your body makes a high-calorie chemical and sends it through your blodstream, adding fat to unwanted areas.

You also should be on a low calorie diet, but not on one less than 1500 calories a day, because muscles are the first food for the body if it does not have enough energy (calories). This is because muscles are protein and protein is the best food for your body. The diet should consist of fruits and vegetables and you should remove all junk foods such as pizza, french fries, chips, pretzels, burgers, Pop-Tarts, and so on. NEVER GO TO MCDONALDS...their food is extremely high in calories; three of their shakes have over 1100 calories!!! For more info on McDonalds nutrional info go to http://www.mcdonalds.com/app_controller.nutrition.index1.html

If you want to get a six-pack and have little belly fat, you should buy a Cross Crunch for 30 dollars. To do this go to http://crosscrunch.com.

I hope this helped you!!!

Yes, an equal amount of muscle (in lbs) burns more calories than pure fat. With that, bodybuilders can eat more than sedentary/soft people and not gain fat

You cannot spot reduce bodyfat. Bodyfat is gained and lost uniformely. The most you can do in one spot is tone the muscle in that area.
