How can i say this in the nicest way possible?... He's not only lying but he thinks you are not very attractive...at all.
I have never in my life met a guy that could say that he doesn't find a girl physically attractive unless he thinks that she is really ugly...or he's covering for something else.
I think that your guy is hiding something and this excuse was just a way out. By saying that he thinks you are perfect and add in that "but..." he is saying that he likes you but he's probably trying to find better or he's bored...or hate to say it .... cheating... if you really wat to get down to the bottom of it confront him... tell him you know that is bull and ask the real reason.

If he's not attracted to you, then you're not perfect in everyway. Why are you wasting your time on this man? Wait, lemme guess, you "love" him? Get a reality check, drop the weasel, and move on with your life. Why would you want to be with someone who tells you sh*t like that?
