Just met a new girl, how should i do this?

Ok ill give you this long story short...

-met this girl working at a restaurant ( nobody was in there and i was ordering to go so i just talked to her while my food was being prepared)
- i came by the next week on a friday night around the same time i first met her and of course she noticed me.... we talked about why shes working on a friday night and how she should be out and all that crap.... couple mins later i got my food... plus a free drink and her number...
- now that i have her number should i go directly towards asking her on a date or should i invite her to hang out ( we havnt really got to know eachother at all ) and then at the end of the night should i then make my intentions clear and then ask her on a date?

Wait 3-5 days then call her. 6 is too many it says, "You don't mean anything to me, but if my other girls don't come through I'll keep you in reserves." Less than 3 says, "I'm desperate," then she has an upper hand and uses it to make you buy her things and take her places. Ask her to coffee, or if you live in a warm climate, miniature golf. Maybe invite her to a party if you are comfortable in that environment, but be ware, other males may move in on her in this environment. Avoid movies, they can be akward if you do not know the person you're going with very well.

When you get married you can invite me to the wedding.

Actually, I'm not sure on what you consider the difference to be between hanging out and going on a date? How are they different?

In fact.. when you said she should be 'out' was it clear to both of you what you meant? That's probably where you should invite her. But at least when you ask her, have a plan, or even two plans, Coffee and movies or Dinner and dancing? Let her choose between the two. Her choice will even help you get to know her a bit better.

She gave you her number, I'd say invite her to something you are going to do with a group of friends. It will give you a chance to get to know her, also, if she is not exactly your type, you can get away and not make it such of a "date." If you like her though, call her sooner rather than later. Somebody else that frequents the restaurant, might beat you to it.

Take her on a date. In public, in the open. Be casual. This gives her time to feel secure and gain trust. Gets time to know you. Most girls don't want to "hang out". Stange things can happen.
