Vet techs only need an associate's degree, but don't they seem to do more work like a nurse? Such as dispensing meds and using anesthetic machine, etc?
What is your opinion?

I'm not talking about a veterinary assistant... I think those are the ones who do most of the poop scooping/instrument cleaning. :)

I do understand that nurses do need to be more knowledgeable, maybe more responsibilities(?)... but my husband is a medical technician, and it seems he doesn't have NEARLY the amount of responsibilites as a veterinary technician is required.

More like a med tech.
Nurses require a ton more knowledge and have a lot more responsibilities.

**EDIT** My point is that even as a vet assistant, I did many of the things you mention in your question. Meaning, a vet tech does NOT have nearly the same responsibilities as a nurse. Just a med tech. A vet tech is just a glorified vet assistant...

Yes, vet techs are more like a nurse. Actually often they do more than a nurse would.
