Nope. That will backfire! You body will think it is starving and go into 'conservation mode'. You will slow your metabolism down and begin to store more fat. Instead, eat 6 mini meals a day. Choose high quality carbs and proteins and eliminate added sugar (especially refined sugars). Lots of fresh veggies and fruits will balance your diet out. Don't eat 3 hours before bed and ALWAYS eat a good quality breakfast!
1 pound a day is not reasonable. Shoot for 2 lbs a week.

I never cease to be amazed at the people asking the same question over and over again. This in particular is an obvious question to check on a "good" medical web site. One: crash diets can result in loss of muscle before you start losing fat. THis includes heart muscle which may never recover.
Two. count your calories. all of them. if you eat an average of 3500 calories less a week and keep up the same activity level then you will have lost a pound. There's no magic about this no ancient herbs, just discipline and will power.
Three. In the first week most weight loss is water, not fat (or anything else). Keep hydrated and increase your excersize level.
3500 cal is 500 a day for 7 days, missing a small meal every day will do it.
Four. While on a diet take a multivitamin and be sure to eat healthy - the four food groups, etc.
Five. you didn't gain a pound a day, why do you expect to be able to lose that much that fast and still be healthy? Life should be so easy.

No, and that's a bad idea. If you only eat one meal a day, your body will think it's being starved and hold onto fat. You should eat 3 meals a day, well it's better if you eat 5 small ones. Just eating one meal a day is endangering your health. You can cut back to about 1,200 calories, at the least. But by adding in exercise you can lose some weight. But you should not lose more that 3 pounds a week. If you lose more than that it is hard on your heart and could lead to many health problems. So take it slow and diet healthy!

When you only eat one meal a day, it can backfire on you and you may begin to gain weight. Your body thinks you are starving it and will hold on to calories that it can draw from later in order to survive. Also one meal a day it is so unhealthy. It attacks your bones, muscle, skin and hair.

A few years ago, I had a case of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) from eating poorly. The doctor suggested the Zone way of eating by Dr. Barry Sear. That's when you eat 6 small balanced snacks a day that includes protein, fat and healthy carbs to keep your insulin level even. Even though I was afraid I would gain weight, I actually lost weight. I also had more energy and lost the lightheadedness that comes with starving yourself. Of course, I included exercise. You are not buying special food; just eating food you can buy at the market and eating the right proportion that he subscibes to.

Take the time and read the websites that I have included. It took me a while to understand how healthy eating and exercise works so much better than starving but I'm so grateful that I did.

No, you can't. Once you starve your body it will store all your fat because it goes into survival mode. The best way to lose weight is to eat 6 meals a day, small healthy meals. You will notice how hungry you get but don't over eat.

If you eat only one meal a day your body will think you are starving it. You will lose more weight if you eat at least 4 small meals a day. It increases your metabolism. If you lose more than 2 pounds a week, chances are you will gain your weight back. You will also lose muscle along with fat. Muscles burn more calories, so you want to keep muscle. Remember that muscles weighs more than fat. You might not lose what you think you should but you will lose inches.

Good Luck

That isn't healthy. You want to eat 3 meals a day. Try eating 3 healthy meals with plenty of vegtables.
