Hey, I'm 16 and was born in to a Christian family(just thought I'd give you a little background on me). Up until know I've always believe that there was a God and believed the bible and I still do to some degree. As of late however I have found myself questioning whether is a god or not, I really do no know what has brought this attitude upon me as I have not suffered any tragedies or anything that would make me question Gods' existence. I was wondering if anyone could guide me in to the right direction so I can again put my faith God. Basically what I'm asking is for some good scriptures to read or a website that could help me with these problems.

The Book of Job is a good one to read. It tells of Job having everything taken away from him and his faith in God remained strong.

As far as God is concerned. God can be described, though not perfectly. He can be sufficiently described so that we can gain an understanding of His nature, greatness, and differences from ourselves. Though we will always fall short when trying to describe an infinite being, we can still say enough about Him to convey who and what He is so that the concept of God can be communicated. We can say that He is infinite, gracious, loving, all knowing, all-powerful, all present, holy, pure, righteous, that he is not flesh and bones, the only uncaused and infinitely eternal being in existence, etc. Though we may not be able to perfectly describe Him we can describe Him by listing His attributes and qualities. Attributes and qualities reflect the nature of the thing described. Therefore, we can describe God and our insufficiency to adequately describe Him in certain areas does not diminish His existence nor mean that He does not exist. It simply means that He is great.

You should not question the existence of God. The problem that you have is religion. You are finding the flaws and nonsense in the teachings of the man-made Bible. There are no good scriptures to read or a websites to surf, as those are all absolute baloney.

First of all, compliments from me for the thoughts. You are still very young to start questioning about critical issue.

Well, lets make a simple example. If there are a lot of Gods, then won't it will be a competition between Gods to show who's more powerful? Then, logically, the universe will be destroyed 'cause the they try to show greater creation or power. But there are only One God.

Tom, there are a lot of source for you. For me, it's better you look up for yourself. I'm not saying the given sources are not good, but I prefer to look up the answer myself. Look for answer in the Holy books and ask people that know more about religion. You can compare the information you got.

Can I ask a favor? Inform me if you got the answer.

Please don't let anyone or any thing distract you from what you believe. Something must have happened in your life to change your mind.
Maybe not an event,,maybe just a thought. Just keep in mind that Satan is working overtime in the last days to take as many souls with him to hell.If you turn your back on God that is where you will end up. That is pretty straight talk but this is serious. No matter how many people on here make fun of us. That is what makes it even better,we are standing up for something that we believe in.......You gotta stand for something or you will fall for anything.

Diane, I would like to suggest that two or more of you who love Christ gather with Susie. If you know of any sin, confess to each other. Talk about how you believe God is working in this situation and then offer prayer to Him together. I'm not saying sin is the problem, only that it might be. Take your Bibles, gather key words that come up when you think of whats going on. Find them in the concordance and study the passages listed. Ask for wisdom, God gives it freely. I will be praying for you and yours!

Tom, this is not a Christian site, and so you will not find just Christian ideas, including my own.

If you really are uncomfortable with looking outside your faith, go talk to your minister. If, however, you are interested in examining what you believe, why you believe it, and what other beliefs are held by other people, this site will introduce you to some of them.

Many of us have blogs that are referenced in our profiles, and you can read some of the theology or lack thereof that is represented here.

Do only what you are comfortable doing now, but recognize there are other resources should you want to examine your ideas further in the future.
