"Marijuana produces no withdrawal symptoms no matter how heavy it is used. It is habit forming (psychologically addictive), but not physically addictive. The majority of people who quit marijuana don't even have to think twice about it. Comparing marijuana to addictive drugs is really quite silly.
For a drug to be physically addictive, it must be reinforcing, produce withdrawal symptoms, and produce tolerance. Marijuana is reinforcing, because it feels good, but it does not do the other two things. Caffeine, nicotine and alcohol are all physically addictive."

Like any drug, yes it can be addictive...BUT it is a mental addiction, not a physical one. Unlike harsher drugs like Heroine, there is no physical pain or withdrawl symptoms when quitting. However, you can get addicted to the high or how it makes you feel, and can find it hard to quit.

I don't know of any particular website for you to show him though, sorry. Good luck!

No marijuana is not addicting. Those with addictive personalities will blame there problems on it though...

While there is not any physical addiction, I could see how psychological addiction (while unlikely) could be plausable. If one enjoys the feeling of being "stoned" (too many people misinterpret the term "high") you tend to do it over and again. I'm mildy skeptical of your friend's claim also.

ONLY if you consider loving the high, more than loving talking and looking at a beautiful lady, as non-addictive.

it is the nicotine in the tobacco that is usually mixed with the marijuana that is addicting. not the marijuana itself.

Though some people do get "addicted" to it.. as like a stress relief.. mentally addictive but not physically addictive.
