Jinx-schminx! :) If you know you want a family some day, why not buy while the buying is good and the bargains are hot?!? I'd just be sure to buy non-sex related colors, neutrals. Just seeing all those cute little clothes hanging in the closet is motivation enough to get the family wagon rolling! Happy shopping!

I don't think it would be a "jinx". I have recently had a child, my daughter is 5 weeks old. We were trying for over a year before we conceived. I didn't buy anything in that time, partly because I found it to upsetting to even look at baby clothes without being pregnant, when I so desperately wanted to be, let alone buy them. I did however start buying everything under the sun from the very day I found out I was pregnant. Even though they say that it's bad luck to buy stuff in the first trimester.
If you want to buy stuff now, go for it, but bear in mind it might be painful later on should there be a problem with you getting pregnant.

No..I don't think it is a jinx. Maybe women will buy clothes and items they like and put them in a 'hope' chest for future children of their own...or even for future babies born to friends and family.

Of course not. There's no reason why you shouldn't buy stuff if you really like it, cuz chances are when you go to look for it when you "NEED" it, it won't be there anymore!!

I bought a security blanket for a baby girl that I "KNEW" I was going to have before I was even married. And sure enough, 11 months after the wedding, we brought out the blankie for our new baby girl. She's almost 2 now and still carries it around!! I should have bought another because I can't find them anymore and we are expecting again!

Good luck to you.

that's what people say, but i think it's never too early. i see so many cute things out there, like baby UGGS, but we aren't going to start planning until we save some money.
buying the neutral colors is a good idea, because if you buy something gender specific, and you don't have that boy or girl, it might be too late to return things!
happy shopping! after all, when you are finally pregnant, all that planning goes out the window!

In my opinion, not so much a jinx as a waste of money.

I don't think its a jinx, but I do think you could end up with a lot of items that are wrong sex and wrong season.

buying baby clothes doesn't have to be for yourself and it is great to take advantage of sales etc. if you don't have children you will have friends and family who will. If you do have children then it is an expense that will be greatly reduced by your planning ahead :D
