I have a 10 year old Rat Terrier who's been having some issues. Lately, at least twice a week, he has been vomiting up what looks like diarrhea. At first I thought it was, then I witnessed it. I have no idea what could be wrong? Could it be cancer? Please advise. Thank you.

Please talk to your vet. You might have to do some exrays and/or ultra sounds and a few tests to figure out what is wrong. Try to bring a sample of the poop if you can.

I am so sorry to hear about your dog! I am also an animal lover. Only a vet would be qualified to diagnose your animal, unfortunately. It does sound like they need medial attention. There are other serious diseases that cause vomiting that are not malignant, but that can kill, and only someone looking at your animal could advise you well. If you can't afford vet care, your local vet may be able to point you towards low-cost vet care.

I just lost one of my Border Collies to cancer in Sept. She just got weak and had trouble breathing so slept most of time. She was actually bleeding out in her body. She died three day after being diagnosed with mass to the lungs and stomach. That is more you'd find with a dog with cancer.

Sounds like your dog has gotten into something. Could be a poison. I'd take it to the Vet asap.

Why don't you just take your poor sick doggie to the vet to have the vomiting properly diagnosed and treated? I don't think it is cancer necessarily. Usuallly, an animal that has cancer will display a dramatic loss of weight, lethargy and other odd behavior.

Take your dog to the vet. It does not necessarily have to be cancer, dogs can eat some strange things that can interfere with digestion. So don't guess take him to the vet. If you can't afford a vet, take him to a humane society and they will treat him - sometimes on a sliding scale for payment.

.. Obviously I would take him to the vet to find out what is wrong. It actually sounds like he may be having an allergic reaction to his food, and is vomiting it back up.
