I'm a independent, fundamental, soul winning, New Testament, KJV Baptist and I agree with you. People like to bring God down to their level, and they get upset when you tell them what God says on things, I think its cause He's convicting their hearts. I know, I've been accused of being "Amish" too esp by my younger brother. Kids.

What part of society did Jesus hang out with? He spent his time with sinners, not just preaching a doctern of fear to the choir. I personally believe that God is active in every area of society and if his servants are willing they will go into ALL the World and take the message of salvation. I honestly believe that He had work to do in the churches too, maybe more, but I have personally been used in the middle of a bar, and some other activities that the leagalistic docterns of men would shun for sure. It is what is in your heart that counts and not some particuar denomination. I was originally ordained in the Baptist faith, and found out that some of their doctern was trying to put God in a box, and quinch the Holy Spirits' work. He is the same today yesterday and tomorrow and in the beginning God was not religious and is still not religious today.

you should not be waving the judgmental finger around. I challenge you to click on my avatar and read the questions I have asked in the past and tell me that I am wishy-washy!

I am a fundy but with common sense. I like reading the version that I grow Spiritually from (notice the big S)

I agree about the wishy washy ones. God IS the same today as He has always been. We don't change God to suit our tastes, we allow Him to change us to suit His tastes. AND BY THE WAY, if we threw our televisions away our brains would be very happy.

I do. :o) I am dismayed by some of the people who call themselves Christians; some don't know what they're talking about, some have nasty attitudes, and some KNOW what they're talking about, but what they're saying is simply wrong. There aren't enough Bible-believing Christians who don't just parrot their local pastor but actually research for themselves what certain passages mean.

If there were a god you would not understand it. so to even talk about it would be to destroy it. There is no understanding of a being outside of time and space. to trap it in a mind can not be done. questions about god are not questions at all. How about saying that one does not exist? that could be the only answer.

I agree one hundered percent. 2000 year ago he was hip, groovy, and hanging out with the guys ( well until those pricks with their cruicifiction harshed his buzz ) , and we should treat him the same today.

I am a Folkish Asatruar - while a constructed religion - it's probably older than Christianity, making it an "old-time" belief.

God is the same today as He was 2000 years ago - agreed. And that's a Catholic belief too.
