Does this girl like me, or am I just overreacting?

Question

OK, I was at a Sweet 16 last night. This question is about this girl that was there. This is not her name, but just for the purpose of the question, let's call her Jessica. This girl goes to school with me, but I thought we didn't know each other. I only talked to her once, and that was about 5 months ago when I had to b/c it was for an assignment in religion class. So I get to the party, and when I see Jessica, who I barely knew, she yells out my name and says hi. Then she says she wants to dance with me later. I was surprised she knew me and wanted to dance. Later, she chased me down (literally), grabbed my hand, and led me to the dance floor. We grinded for 2 songs, and she really got into it, grinding her a*s hard against me, holding my hands, and I was holding her hips. When we finished she gave me a hug. On my way out, I saw her again, and she gave me one of those quick kisses on the cheek and a hug. So, does this girl like me, or am I just blowing this way out of proportion?

I'm not dense, I just think its odd that a girl I have never talked to would act like we were best friends, you know. I don't know how girls think. I hope she likes me, but I can't help thinking that it was just a one night thing. I don't know. Unfortunately, I won't know until next Monday; I'm off from school this week and I don't have her number, since we barely knew each other.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much, b/c I don't want to be dissapointed if this turns out to be nothing, which is likely. But that's real hard b/c I've never had a girlfriend before and I'm kinda hoping that "Jessica" really likes me. You can imagine the crazy stuff going on in my head. Monday can't come soon enough.

Another odd thing: If she liked me so much, why did she wait until now to do something? Is she just an overly-friendlyg girl? My head hurts

And on a sidenote, I could be wrong, but I don't think she was drunk at all.

well first of all, i'm sure you're a very nice guy and any girl would be very lucky to have you as a bf =]
secondly although you migiht be secretly wishing she'll go for you, relationships aren't all that and a bag of chips. things may be harder than you think/

but yea. i guess the time difference is a big thing here, i mean five months before any contact and then very friendly and dare i say, provocative contact? so i guess it would only be logical to assume that yea, she has a thing for you.
but girls are complex beings, so you're gonna have to take that into account. they will do the randomest, wackiest most questionable things and all for no good reason. so be ready if it does end up being nothing at all.
but it could be, and since you're leaning towards a yes please, i'll be sitting here hoping it works out for you!
but i guess hte only way to really see is going to school and like i guess maybe "bump" into her with her friends or whatever and just make a casual reference to the party and see if that conversation leads anywhere.

Actually, that was very interesting to read even though it was a lot, lol. Were there very many people at the dance that both of you knew? Or at least her. Maybe you were the only preson there she knew a bit or even had a slight interest in.

She definitely likes you and it almost sounds like she's in lust, lol. I think she probably thinks you're really attractive and you should definitely exchange digits and spend more time together. Maybe she just is a really flirty girl in general, but I definitely think she likes you.

Just wait until monday n ask her if she had a good time at the party n see how she is with you at school. If shes a bit cold with you then it was a possibilty she was just having a bit of fun n could of been a lil bit tipsy/drunk.

she likes you, ask her out..... may be she will say no, or may be she will say yes, maybe she's just a flirt. But i think you should ask her out, there is not many chances like that you know?
