My fiance's children have ADHD, and a friend of ours mentioned that it's "because they aren't growing up with god."

I can assure you that IQ has nothing do do with it. We are all gifted in our house. I like to stick with the question rather than judging people when I answer though.... that's new for some people, I know...

Ah!!!!! Baptists.

"Have you found Jesus yet?"

"Why did you lose Him?"

"You know you are going to hell if you don't find Jesus."

"Did you look next to Waldo? Perhaps He's there...."

Is there any chance the girl's name is Regan or Emily? Is her head turning around? Can she spew pea soup? Does she speak Aramaic? Does she have fits at exactly 3:33 AM? That might be a clue it is time for an exorcism.

Otherwise, religion is not the cause of her tantrums.

I will say that going to a Church as a family does have its advantages in child rearing. It is a place where peers tell your children to listen to their parents and love one another. They tell them not to steal, or lie, or kill. Pretty much what you are telling them at home only it is not coming from you this time.

I know you are not a real Church person but it is there if you want to use it to serve your needs.

After all you are getting married soon and it might help in answering the question why? After all, wiccans only get married for a year, why stayed married for a life time? Where is the fun in that?

Besides all the good schools are private and it helps if your kids know the other students from somewhere.

It has nothing to do with god. I am catholic and I have ADHD. some people look for reasons outside medical reasoning to explain ADHD.

And BG ADHD is not an adult ADD. ADHD is attention deficit disorder with hyperactivity, ADD is the exact same thing without hyperactivity. Both ADD and ADHD can be diagnosed in adults and children

No. But a lack of intelligence is what is responsible for all the parents that medicate their children until they are zombies when the child probably didn't even really have ADHD to begin with.

ADHD is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain, not by a belief or disbelief in God.

Is this another one of those questions meant to be taken as a joke? It sure sounds like it. It makes no sense.

ADHD is adult hyperactivity disorder, which is diagnosed in adults.

ADD is Attention deficit disorder. This is usually diagnosed in children.

Perhaps you have the two confused? And these are both strictly medical problems.

...so a short attention span and hyperactivity means a kid's... a heretic? what the hell? so, you think that forcing a kid into church for a few more hours is going to make it all better? no way.

Yes. Tell your children they're going to hell if they have a hard time concentrating.
