I drink about 3 to 4 cans of pop average every day. If I stop drinking pop will this help me lose weight. I just have the problem in my stomach area is where I gained alot of weight and trying to lose it by exercising a little and drinking water, just wondering if pop would help lose a couple lbs and about how much?

I am not over weight but since I been eatting alot of junk food and drinking pop I gained alot of weight back, I got sick alot a year and half ago from the hot summer and got down to 130 lbs, and then gained alot of weight back in the last year and half I weight about 150 lbs my height is 5'8, only thing I am worrying about is my stomach, thats where you can tell where I gained the weight!!!

Depends on what you do in it's place. If you stop drinking pop and start drinking sweet iced tea then you aren't accomplishing much. The important fact is that most people that end up fat do it by consuming very little extra calories a day. Like in the neighborhood of 50-100 calories a day. It takes years to get fat but people are persistent when it comes to GETTING fat. So if you cut out 3 or 4 cans of pop a day (~600 calories) that should definitely get you in the losing weight category. The tough part is going to be not substituting any other calories. Good luck.

Hi!
We need to burn about 3500 calories more than we consume in order to lose a pound. If we assume that you haven't been recently gaining any weight with your current eating habits...and if you cut out the pop, you will be eliminating about 500 calories. If you exercise on top of that, the chances are good you will lose about 1 pound a week. If you have been gaining weight with your current diet, though, you might stop gaining weight but you might not lose. However, if you cut out the pop and add some exercise, you will most likely have more energy and feel better, so you are a winner either way. E-diets and weight watchers are both good programs if you want any additional help with healthy eating.

You can drink Diet pop!

Also try the south beach diet!

if you can not afford the book i have it:)) You can email for the recipes.

But a friend of mine eat only cabbage soup for 2 wk and lost 30 pounds.

When I want to loose weight i just eat only salad and veggies and tuna.

Probably soda pop has lots of sugar in it. It is like drinking a cup of it each can. Also dehydrates you and the actual fizz is bad for you too. It removes oxygen from your body. Drink water instead. The best drink on this earth for your bodies

yes average surveys say that a person that doesnt exercise much and has a slow metabolism can gain 15 pounds a year by drinking one soda a day sodas are loaded!!! with sugar and sugar will go right to you stomach so cut them out and it will help you lose weight

i used to drink 3-5 cans of diet soda EVERY DAY. .. i completely stopped a few months ago, and i havent seen any weight loss... maybe because they were diet? 'zero calories.'
