I don't know where you're located, but in most places I've been, $5K will buy what you're looking for.

A used car that's cheap. I hate to say it, but age 16 is the year most people have accidents. Even if you are a great driver, you will probably be near other 16 year olds who are not the best drivers. (Just take a look at the school parking lot when school's out.)

with 5 G's you'll have to see what's in the best condition and not worry about car types too much. manual is generally cheaper but may not mean much on the used car circuit. a four door sedan is useful for a young person, room for friends, has more flexibility for carrying things.

i'd advise a used Honda Civic and then provide that infant some instructions truthfully. No sixteen 300 and sixty 5 days old boy, inspite of his father and mom economic project desires or merits an costly luxury automobile for his first automobile. no longer a single automobile on that checklist is useful or equipped to a infant's first automobile.

Manual transmission is cool. A foreign car would get you the best gas mileage too. How about a nice Nissan Altima. One of my friends has one of those(standard also). What a powerful car it is, fast too. Good luck, and drive safely please!

If ur just turning 16 the car for you would be the Lincoln LS. If you want luxory combined with speed you want this car. Its a speed demonds dream. I have a20000 Lincoln LS and the only car I would trade it in for is the new Cadillac STS-V.
