I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.
Get started today!

Your son probably just needs to exercise through play. Anything and everything helps basketball, swimming, walking, running and crunches( they are not fun though, play is better) I do not think there is a safe way for a 12 year old to lose it quickly and not cause adverse effects. Talk to him about healthy eating and exercise and limit the time on TV and gameboy. Some many kids spend to much time sitting in front of the TV, that is where the trouble begins. Good luck to the both of you and happy playing, do it together as a family and have lots of fun.

A 12 year old boy should be consuming more than 700-900 calories a day to be healthy. Twelve years old is a transition time for many bodies and many pre-teens carry their weight from childhood into their early teens but as soon as their hormones kick in, their bodies will change as well. I would suggest your son stop worrying so much about his belly fat, and begin to eat a well balanced diet that excludes too many "sweet" carbs and includes lean protein, fruit, veggies, nuts, vitamins and minerals, etc. and begin an exercise routine that he will enjoy. Sports, swimming, biking, hiking, etc. are examples. At his age, he should be consuming more calories than 700 - 900 a day to stay healthy. I might suggest contacting your family doctor for guidance.

1) Your son needs to eat more than 900 calories a day. His body will store fat and not give it away if it feels it might not get enough throughout the day.
2) Water will help wash it out. Along with more fiber.
3) You can buy a lift belt from Wal-Mart. Buy the kind that's made out of wetsuit material and have him wear that while walking or running. That will help to draw out the water in that specific area and it's not noticable to the casual observer.
4) His belly fat may come back since he is 12. His body probably wants to use it when he hits 18 and grows 5 more inches!
Good luck!

A growth spurt: seriously at his age, if isn't really overweight he may need that reserve, if he shoots up fast. On the other hand, a little exercise never hurt anyone, convince him what he needs is toning and help him to be more active. He'll get some of what he is after without doing anything stupid. The exercise should start with whatever physical activity he likes most.

Many things present in the American food stream contain hydrogenated oil or other synthetic ingredients. These don't metabolise and end up being stored in fatty tissues. Switching to all natural or ideally organic diet should help considerable with this. Also to some extent this may be preparation for a growth spurt.

You know my son just turned 13 and he's going through that.. We bought him a barbell weight set.. Now he works out and he feels better about himself.. The weight set was around $35.00 or so. You might ask you son if he would be interested. After he lifts weights he can do crouches and sit ups..
Also, getting involved in sports will help also and will motivate him and boot his self esteem.
I don't know your son eating habits, even though he may not look like he needs to lose weight you could introduce him to healthy snacks (if you haven't already) and that will help him also to feel like he is "doing something about it". And it teaches him to eat healthy at the same time...

There is a simple way of losing fat.
I would suggest exercising.About an hour of exercise would be fine, just basic ones, or if he prefers playing outdoor games such as soccer and basketball, it is also a good way to loose fats.
Just inform him about exercising and consume more healthy snacks such as fruits and vegetables. In this way, he can loose weight in a healthy way.
Thanks

He can do sit ups, the ones that you don't sit all the way up but he needs to warm up and down to not hurt himself. He can do these with weights too, small ones on his wrists. He can do them to the side and that helps withthe six pack he's looking for. Maybe look up some ab exercised on the internet, they should have a few good sites that will help you.
