She does purr sometimes, but it is so faint that you almost have to put your ear to her body to hear her. She was an abandoned/malnutrated cat when she was rescued by a local vet (who cared for her until she was well and able to be adopted.)

Don't worry about it too much. So cats have soft purrs some have loud. It's nothing to worry about. However, if the cat's meow starts to sound quieter than normal you should take it to the vet. Or if all else fails ask the vet who was taking care of the cat... just in case. Good luck with your cat!

If the question is, is it normal. Yeah, it is. My one cat, named Banshee because of her WAILING meows, purrs loud enough to be heard across the room. My other cat is only heard if she's purring while sleeping on my pillow next to my ear.

She is lucky to have met you!

Don't worry about it. Some kitties can get very loud when they purr. Others more or less vibrate rather than make any noise.

I have two siblings neither of which ever purred, at all. You have to lay your ear on them to hear anything at all. It is normal for them so I haven't worried about it. They are content otherwise, and the purring they do can be felt but not heard.
