Do you mean a born-again Christian? Every one of us makes mistakes, so there are going to be times when we don't measure up but that's what repentence and God's grace and mercy are for. Jesus said you would know a person by their fruits. Those fruits are: love, piece, patience, joy, kindness, goodness, and faithfulness. These are developed in the believer by the Holy Spirit working in us. I can tell you that this is a process and it doesn't take place overnight. But the more you understand God's great love, the more you love Him. And the more you love Him, the more you want to do the right things and act the right way. It's all motivated by love and having a personal relationship with Jesus. Religion can never give you this because it's not about relationship at all. It's about getting the formulas and works right and relying on "self" to get it done. Unfortunately, there are many Christians who haven't gotten the revelation of God's grace, yet.

A person becomes a christian when they receive Jesus Christ as Savior Lord and chose to turn away from sin with a sincere heart. It is said that when this happens there is a change in the heart caused by the Holy Spirit and one's desire is to develop a relationship with God and live a life that pleases Him. Specifically a life in which our behavior is governed by the principles taught from the Bible.

Most people over look the meaning of Jesus Christ's teachings. In the old testament moses came down with 10 commandments, and no one could remember all 10. Jesus came to us with the same message, I think we need to understand that he simply wants us to be nice to everyone all of the time.
There have been many Christians that I have known that simply did not understand this simple idea of being nice. If you truly believe in Jesus, you would live your life, not professing your faith, or practicing some antiquated pagan ritual, but by simply being nice.
No religious figure can tell us how to live, or how to be saved in the eyes of the lord. For that, we must wait for god to tell us.

Well, they shouldn't "act" number one. They should be sincere and not be afraid to tell people the truth about God and they should not be afraid to help people either. They should be loving in a self-sacrificing way. Not the phony lovey-dovey stuff but, the real love stuff where they buy you a meal if you need it or try to help you get a job or just teach someone how to pray to God or --- just listen to a lonely old person forgotten in the nursing home.

Truthfully, my opinion on this doesn't matter one whit. We have been told by our Founder (Jesus) how we, as His followers are supposed to act. We are to pray to the Father and trust Him for everything, we are to love our neighbors as ourselves, we are to be humble and meek, we are to seek and grant forgiveness, and lots of other things. Go have a read through Matthew 5-7, where Jesus gives the Beatitudes and the rest of the Sermon on the Mount. If you look carefully at what Jesus said His and His Father's followers are to do, you'll see there's little to do with formalities. It's about the heart.

I act the same way on Sunday as I do Thursday, and most of my Christians friends do the same.
Stand fast in your liberty, I will in mine. Christianity is about freedom not some stupid rules.

5But if anyone OBEYS HIS WORD, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: 6Whoever claims to live in him MUST WALK AS JESUS DID.
7Dear friends, I am not writing you a new command but an old one, which you have had since the beginning. This old command is the message you have heard.

A Christian is supposed to Love the Lord with all his heart, soul, mind and strength and love his neighbor as himself. Sadly, on our own, humans cannot do this. That's why God sent his Son to die for us.

the Messiah YAHOSHUA in you, the hope of glory, will act, and empower you to act in harmony with Himself. The Almighty YHVH set up a system. He sent His “Son” YAHOSHUA to die for the sins of mankind so they would not have to. (They could choose to, but did not have to). Any person who chooses not to allow Yahoshua to take care of their sins, chooses to remain attached to their sins. They thus will wind up in the lake of fire which is YHVH’s method of cleaning this world, and eliminating sin and sinners. The Creator set aside the Seventh day for rest and worship. Yes that is the day usually called “Saturday”. We are not saved by obedience, we are saved by faith. However we are saved FOR obedience. As He said in John 14:15 (and in many other places) “If you love me, keep my commandments.
Churchianity is a pagan religion. The only thing that will change a person is the indwelling savior Yahoshua. Obviously that is rare in this sinful world.
