Exodus 20:7 - “You must not take up the name of Jehovah your God in a worthless way.”
Colossians 3:8, 9 - “Put them all away from you, wrath, anger, badness, abusive speech, and obscene talk out of your mouth.”
Ephesians 4:31 - “Let all malicious bitterness and anger and wrath and screaming and abusive speech be taken away from you along with all badness.”

The Bible forbid cursing but the prohibition against four letter words are a product of a society that is obsessed with sex.

All who curse their father or mother must be put to death. They are guilty of a capital offense. (Leviticus 20:9 NLT

to be honest the bible makes no list of words. But does say this

One of the Ten Commandments is 'Thou shalt not take the LORD's name in vain.'
Which means 'God damn it', 'Jesus Christ!' and any variations thereof are right out.
