And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.
{6} "But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
{7} "And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.
{8} "Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.
{9} "In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
{10} Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
{11} Give us this day our daily bread.
{12} And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.
{13} And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
{14} "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
{15} "But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
{16} "Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.
{17} "But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,
{18} "so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

I was taught to talk to Jesus like He's sitting with me as a friend. I thank Him for things. I ask questions then stay quiet like I'm listening , a lot of times a scripture or something will come to mind to give me the answer (even if I don't like the answer). I ask Him to help others (and I'm specific about who and what!) and tell Him about my needs.I always thank Him for what He has done and is doing!!!I don't joke around or be disrespectful like I do with friends...God deserves much better!!
I also have a book about how to use the Lord's prayer as an outline for prayer rather than just REPEATING the words out of the Bible. I found it very helpful when I was first learning about prayer. It's called "Could You Not Tarry One Hour?" by Larry Lea. (published by Creation House in 1987 in case you are really interested)

I make prayer a part of my daily life. To start off a new day, i take out my Chaplet of Saint Michael and then the rosary then later on, the Liturgy of the hours. Then attend daily mass and there's more prayer there too. After i get out of work, i go home and take out the Chaplet of Divine Mercy which happens every day at 3:00 P.m. Because that's the hour when Jesus died on the cross. And before i go to bed, I again do the Liturgy of the hours evening prayer and night prayer. So prayer to me is part of my Catholic Christian life.

I usually just chat informally with Him, though sometimes I do pray formally. I pray in Jesus' Name, since He said to, and do bring before God anyone who comes to mind as needing His attention. Otherwise, I just chat and thank Him for things I see or tell Him what a nice job He did on something I've noticed, or things like that. I often like to pray while I'm out walking. I also sing (in my heart) to God, since He's the only One Who could ever truly like my voice. He gave it to me; He gets to listen to it. Mostly, I just talk to Him. I guess I'm not so good at formal prayers and such.

I pray 5 times a day to God as taught by the Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him). I praise His (God's name) and bow before his majesty.

i ussually turn off the tv or music and cell phone and sit up in a meditation position and i keep my hands up in a surrender position and i clear my mind . than i pray the "lords prayer" than i thank Him for everything, apologize for certain things, ask for strength to overcome conflicts, and occasionally i talk to Him.

I also pray in Jesus' name. I ask God for protection for my family and I and to help us submit to his will and to be holy.
