I'm 30 and am the same way. I don't have girl friends because you can't trust them and i don't have guy friends because my husband is jealous of them. As long as your happy with where you are in life then friends don't really matter. Although it would always be nice to have that one that you can talk to whenever and about whatever.

It's nice to hear that I'm not alone. I feel the same way, and I'm sorry. I'm 24. All my "friends" are guys, when all I really want is a female to hang out with, talk with...I can't really help answer your question because I'm reading the answers too. Well, your not alone, and I'm glad to hear that neither am I. I believe that at one point or another we will both meet real friends that want to get to know us, and take us into the fold. all good things are worth waiting for right? I worked at a bar too.

I'm 27 and I have only a few..good girlfriends. Women get too competitive and jealous. It's hard to find women who are comfortable with themselves enough not to want to be that way with me. I guess they find me intimidating. I have a lot of guys friends..platonic friends. Guys are easier to get a long with and I don't feel that they are competing with me..they are pretty real with me. I can't seem to find any good girlfriends to go out with because it always ends up being competitive. Believe me I never feel the urge to compete with anyone. I am the nicest person you will ever meet. Some women just don't have a lot of self confidence and they just don't feel truly happy for you when they should because they are "haters". There is nothing wrong with you..It's just hard to find good girlfriends. It's a holiday and I got the day off of work...I would rather spend time with a bunch of friends, but sadly I don't have too many..LOL It's ok. I realized that as you get older it gets a little easier. I try to go out with my older co -workers from work. I'll be your friend if you want! LOL You are not alone. I feel that way sometimes....Women are wierd..we don't like feeling inferior when going out in groups..we back stab each other...we steal each others men...Drama..drama...That's why I just don't deal..I have tons of guy friends to keep me busy! Make some guy friends.

maybe people want to understand you more, but you have to open up and join in any of the conversations around you.it's ok to be private but there are limits.you'll probably find that more people will invite you out more once they get to know you.
your not the only person that is going through this.
all the best.

maybe because you're trying to find answers to questions like this on Yahoo. if you are most comfortable alone then that is why you don't have friends. you have to make an effort to get to know others. ask questions - people love to talk about themselves. practice it.

sure, i'm 33 and have no one. mostly, if you want friends you either need to find someone with simaler interests. or can hold up a hollow conversation with meaningless context. friendship is rather superficial at times. it's hard to find a real friend.
usually the advice i see is - to have a friend you have to be a friend.

Some people are low maintenance and don't need crowds of friends. Friends take a lot of time and effort. You are who you are, so relax and enjoy your solitude.

you probably just have poor social skills. To get more friends, you have to show them that being friends with you will benefit them somehow. Maybe be funny, in case they need a laugh, or smart, if they need help with stuff.
