sometimes, it never dries. if the floor wasn't cleaned properly, it may still have polish and or oils on it that will prevent drying. I suggest pulling up a chair and watching it. I looooove watching paint dry. It's fun and a great way to bond with your family

depending on your meaning of dry. It takes about 24 hours to set up. and then it all depends on how thick you applied the coats. Was the first coat completely cured before you applied the second coat? What is the base for poly? Water dries faster than oil much faster. I would check the hardness with a finger nail before walking on and wait 72 plus hours before any traffic then at least 120 hour before moving furniture or sanding.

The reason I am putting so much time on these steps is due to many things like; where you live, the temp and humidity in your house, how thick each layer of clear is, how old the clear is what sheen you used. each manufacturer is different and the sheen level can take 10 to 30 days to stabilize is some products so try to avoid cleaners for a while.

If you really need to use the space press your finger nail into the poly if it does not give then wait another 24 hrs and use the floors lightly.
