I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

My 8 year old is overweight. We find him an activity for every season. Winter is hard because it gets too cold to go outside. Even if you can get her to join a winter bowling league or something, it's a start and getting her out of the house up and moving. Last weekend it warmed up enough that I took my son to learn how to ski. It got him off the couch and away from the x box for the day. Summer is easier because he likes to play baseball and football. Not much to do during the winter. We also sometimes go to the ice rink. Great exercise! Swimming. What does she like to do? During the winter, our house really concentrated on our eating habits. My husband wants to lose weight and started going for walks at night. Brrr. We told our son he can join him when it warms up a bit. Hope these ideas help. Good luck. I have a DVD by Slim in Six that has a few 20 minute workouts that I do and my son likes to do them also. Just and idea.

Well for an eleven year old just try to make her more active and perhaps get her involved in Ice skating, hockey, or some indoor sports such as basketball.
And of course you could limit the diet, nothing too major, but naturally very limited to none soda, shes eleven so im not telling you to take the fun out of her life, but try to cut down the junk to only weekends. With every meal try to include at least two vegetables of different colors and of course be sure to include breakfast every morning.

Start a food journal to become aware of each and everything she eats. It is amazing how much we don't account for. Try to be supportive in good meal planning. Healthy yet tasty.
Any form of excercise will help. Maybe walk an indoor track at a local high school. Encourage her to take the stairs at every oppurtunity. Park further away from any stores you may go to together. Offer to walk an elderly neighbor's dog for them. Every small step helps.

Most people do better at exercising if they have a friend doing it with them,I find this more true of girls and women. If you can find such a friend maybe they could start walking every day weather permitting, that usually works well.I try to exercise twice a day as that works best for my body and my age.

anything active is good!
I'm a sophomore in high school and take an aerobics class.
Our workout is usually 15 minutes of cardio which can include using the steppers, dancing, running, etc. Followed by abs and butt which includes different styles of sit-ups and lunges. Then lastly, we use weights to build our upper body.
try to cut out carbs, drink mostly water because soda and juices have lots of calories and who wants to drink their calories? [i'd rather eat mine!]
and try to stop eating before 7:30pm. My aerobics teacher told me that the little "hunger" feeling you get around 9:00 is just your body burning fat.
Good Luck!

With her being the weight she is, I would consult a doctor. There could be a serious, deeply rooted problem that a little exercise and diet cannot fix. For her sake, consult a physician.

Good luck to her!
