cats show there affections in many ways... when they blink slowly at you it is the equivilant of a hug so try blinking back. when they wipe their nose/mouth on you their claiming you. when they catch mice and put them at your feet their practically saying i love you...

Cats are the only pet that shows affection. They don't need anyone because they're so independent. It was on a T.V program a few years ago about animal behavior. People think dogs do, but it's because they're pack animals and tail wagging and tummy rubs ears down etc are all signs of submission, they're letting you know that you are the boss and care taker.
I read a joke about cat and dog behavior:
A dog thinks: You feed me and take care of me. You must be God.
A cat thinks: You feed me and take care of me. I must be God.
I love cats and dogs and think they all show affection, and are great company.I wouldn.t be without one.

yea, i definitely think they can! I read on a webpage before that when a cat loves you they will look at you and blink very slowly. You can try doing this to the cat first and they should do it back. I know it sounds weird but that is supposed to mean i love you in cat lingo.

What do you mean, people or other cats? Definitely cats can love their owners. A mom cat loves her kittens. When I was a kid, we had a neutered male cat who adopted a wild kitten and he loved him. I don't mean I think they were gay cats! It was more like a special friend kind of love. I don't think that cats "fall in love" with a mate the way people or some animals that mate for life can. Mating cats are promiscuous, so it's like a one night stand in a cheap motel for them.

Yes, but on their own terms.

Some cats only like to get love and not give.

Some cats give love back.

It depends on the cat's personality. They all love in their own way and not our way.

So, in my experience just accept them as they are.

I have a female cat named Roxie and her best cat friend died a few years ago. She sat in the window and cried for three days, it was awful. I know she loved him.

OF COURSE cats can love. They show this on a daily basis, if you weren't too drunk to notice. Now put down your drink and make sure your cat is ok.

Of course, my cats love me and I love them. Seriously, I have one cat that is all over me whenever I am home.

Cats can certainly feel affection, but as far as love (basically a feeling of need for someone/something, worshipping, etc.)... I doubt it.

WEll, that's just me, with an obese retard cat who hates every other cat and one antisocial thing that spits like mad.

Cats are evil.
