I don't remember dropping anything on it. I also waited until it grows back (that's what happens when you hit yourself) but it turned all black by growing, and no new healthy nail is coming from the base.
I have been using generally the same type of sneakers...

You might have a toenail fungus, and only a doctor could diagnose this.

Well- maybe talk to your doctor. You never know what's going on. My friend had to get surgery because of an In-Grown toe nail. Maybe that's what's wrong! Try buying a new pair of tennishoes, ones that are good and worth the money. But you should really talk to your doctor! You never know what's wrong!
