I use to work with this man that gave great advice whenever I talked to him. He motivated me to return back to school, gave great advice on raising my son, and just was there whenever I needed counseling. However, he's returned back to the place where I met him. He's a great guy and everything; just one problem: he's married. Now, I'm a strong believer in the commandments (though we all sin), but he have never stepped out of line with me, though he once told me that he wished he met me earlier. And I really don't know if he's still married/not. I'm not looking for that from him/anyone, but I do want to go see him and let him know that I'm doing alright; I finished school and going for my bachelor's. And yes, if asked, I do have feelings for him but I wouldn't react on them out of respect for his family, him, and myself. But my question is, would it hurt to go and say hello despite everything?

It won't hurt as long as you can control any feelings you have. It would be a cruel thing to mess up someone's life when they have helped you with yours so much. Hopefully that is not an issue for you. If you just want to say hello and let him know how you're doing, go for it. If you feel any urges you know would be harmful, find a reason to excuse yourself. If they come into play they will only get more intense and harder to deny the longer you stick around.

He's probably wondering how you are. You should be proud of yourself for going back to school, and he would probably appreciate the fact that his advise helped you get there. Unfortunetly, he is taken, and your feelings will have to be put aside, but let him know he helped you, and thank him for the push.

No. After reading your letter, and feeling the true sincerity, I see nothing wrong. He probably wonders how you are also. I wouldn't go for coffee or anything, but to chat or a bit would be nice.

If you are SURE you would not act on your feelings for him, then I see no reason why you can't go tal to him and see how he's been.
