Perhaps one reason Satan has gained such a hold on so many lives is because we don't pray enough?

Although our society continues to grow more secular, more people also are coming to Christ than ever before. Only God knows what the future holds, but I think we should constantly pray for those around us who need Christ. The Bible says that God "is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9).

I know that long ago there used to be periods of religious revival in our land, but I wonder if we'll ever see anything like that again?

Absolutely! There are loads of examples of how earnest prayer has preceded spiritual revival. Charles Haddon Spurgeon was part of a huge revival over 100 years ago (in London); there was a famous revival in the Welsh valleys during the early part of last century; famously, two ladies in the Outer Hebrides prayed incessantly for revival on those islands - and their prayers were answered. I would phone my sister for the details on that, only it's 6 am and I don't think she would be best pleased! You're right - there isn't enough prayer going on. But when belief in God is ridiculed and people even deny the existence of Satan, you can be certain the Father of the Lie is rejoicing. Let's all start praying for revival - it's sorely needed.

Something I have come to realize is that if you want something to change within yourself, you must make it happen. If it is spiritual revival you seek, then do everything within your power to achieve it, whatever it means to you. Let me just say this; praying doesn't help people to become enlightened, or closer to god. I don't believe in god. I don't believe that people should have to pray for good things to happen. All praying really is, is begging for something to happen. Like I said, if you will something to happen, it will. People pray to god for help, but what they should really be doing is looking inside themselves, and using inner power to achieve happiness. DO NOT ALLOW YOURSELF OR ANYONE ELSE TO SAY THAT YOU ARE WEAK. This is not true. You are only as powerless as you choose to be.

Revival is a "one-at-a-time" proposal.

As St. Francis of Assisi said: "Sanctify yourself, and you sanctify society"

yes it helps but you have to have faith in God, and live your life accordingly, you just cant do whatever you want through out the week and call it all good just because you went to church last Sunday.

No. In ALL history there has NEVER been ANY verifiable evidence that prayer does ANY good at all. And in ALL history there has NEVER been ANY verifiable evidence that even suggests that spirits exist.
