Follow your heart. Don't try to believe something that you don't out of fear.

Well, first of all--you will never "feel" the holy spirit, or feel its operation on you. Its operation is very subtle. Usually you "notice" its operation after the fact. If the holy spirit could be felt every time it operated on, or through, someone, then it would be obvious which is the true faith, and people would swarm to it.
Second, the trinity is not a Biblical teaching. There are some scriptures that COULD be interpreted to mean a trinity, but, if you're honest, you'll admit they could just as well mean something else. And there are a few scriptures that were added to prove the trinity, AFTER the Bible canon was completed, by people who ALREADY had developed a belief in it. I don't want to take too much of your time quoting a whole bunch of scriptures disproving the trinity; here's one: Colossians 1:15, which calls Jesus "the image of God, the firstborn of all creation." (A) An image is NOT the same as the thing itself. Your image looks like you exactly, but is it independant, a separate entity? No! (B) Calling someone the "firstborn" obviously means they had a beginning, while God is from everlasting to everlasting. If you say that it refers to Jesus' birth as a man, then you're ignoring the fact that Adam was the firstborn of mankind. Jesus was God's first creation (see Proverbs 8:22-31, where Jesus is likened to wisdom personified).
As to not getting the Bible, I wouldn't worry. Everyone is different, so each progresses at their own speed. It's especially hard if you've had no grounding in the Bible's teachings. Don't give up, or give into discouragement. Look for people who specialize in Bible study, and are willing to go slow, explaining what you want, and need, to know.

You are not a lost soul.
The problem is that you have some sort of expectation of what change is supposed to come over you. That is not God's fault, and you have to realize that all you have to do, is what you did. You invite Christ into your heart, and you MUST ALSO ACCEPT HIM AS YOUR SAVIOR.
Having done that, you ARE saved. Ask for forgiveness, and your sins ARE forgiven.
The change in your case may come slowly, maybe not be as dramatic as in some others; however, it will happen compared to the live you would have lead before. Your future will certainly be different. You have a basic guide in the Bible of how Christ expected people to live. Follow HIS words, don't get too caught up in semantics, just do what you think Christ would think is good and right. Being a fanatic doesn't bring people to the Lord. Set a good example. You are already a member of Christ's Family, and now you know it.
Bless You.
If you don't have a church home, I do suggest you check out the Episcopal Church in the USA, or Anglican Churches worldwide to see if these are comfortable to you. Just remember you are saved, with, or without a organized religion.

this is the devil speaking to u. u have to not only want the Holy Spirit but u have to accept it. now ask ur self this- what did i do for the LORD this week. u see for u to have been touched by the Holy Spirit u have to do something for God and believe in him over eveything else and never doubt him. i can understand ur feelings u see i hve been a Christian for about all my life and still ive only been touched by the Holy Spirit about 5-6 times. read the Bible more often do good things for the Lord NOT men. in the Bilbe it says that if u do ur good deeds for the Lord ull be blessed in Heaven and on earth, but if u do them for man u have ur reward of them looking at u as a better person. ive done a lot of studying lately and have come up with the same problem and the solution i gave u works. also i joined the youth group at my church. if u like music a would recomend some songs like "Voice of Truth" "Strong Tower" "Grace Like Rain" "Shine" and many others too. go to limewire.com if u dont already have it. i hope this helps because i got to go. if it doesnt talk to a pastor or priest at church. God bless u and i hope u find God soon because its never too early. by the way ur NOT a lost soul!

There are some Christians who understand that the trinity is not a Biblical teaching. The Jews did not believe it, Jesus didn't teach it and neither did his Apostles. The concept of the trinity is a long standing belief from pagan religions that was accepted into "Christianity" to help pagans be more comfortable with "conversion." It has been "official church doctrine" for so long that people now believe it is true.
I mean no disrespect, but I also think it is funny that one responder said that you need to pay attention to the "red parts" of the Bible. Some Bibles have "red parts", some don't. The original Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek texts certainly did not. No one portion of the Bible is more important than another.

In the name of God, most gracious, most merciful
Say "God is One
God is eternal
He has no children, nor is he anybody's child
And there is none like unto him."
This is from the Qur'an. I used to be a Christian. I read the Bible every single day to get answers. I found that I believed in most of it, but couldn't believe in all of it. I found it to be inconsistent too, with the old and new testaments. I can't see Moses, for instance, coming down from the mountain with the message to accept Jesus as your lord and savior, even if Jesus were around then. It's inconsistent with God's teachings to hold a mere human being to the same level as himself.
As for the trinity, Christians will say it's like an egg: there is a yolk, a white, and a shell- three in one! But sometimes an egg has two yolks. And lets not forget about all of the tiny little molecules that make it up! My point is that people can keep on splitting up God, but ultimately He is One.
But don't just believe me or or anybody else here for that matter. By all means, continue reading the Bible. It is (the original version at least) the inspired message from God. I congradulate you for your clear and logical thinking skills.

Don't feel sad, you are not the only one that does not believe in the trinity.
There is no such thing as the Trinity, This is largest lie that Satan uses to keep people from knowing who the True God is, if he can do this, he's got you.
“Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father.” (Matthew 24:36) How do these words confirm that Jesus is not Almighty God?
Jesus says that the Father knows more than the Son does. If Jesus were part of Almighty God, however, he would know the same facts as his Father. So, then, the Son and the Father cannot be equal. Yet, some will say: ‘Jesus had two natures. Here he speaks as a man.’ But even if that were so, what about the holy spirit? If it is part of the same God as the Father, why does Jesus not say that it knows what the Father knows?
1st of all Jesus said: He pointed to God as the Source of his life, saying, “I live because of the Father.” According to the context, this meant that his life resulted from or was caused by his Father, even as the gaining of life by dying men would result from their faith in Jesus’ ransom sacrifice.
Jesus’ being called the “only-begotten Son” does not mean that the other spirit creatures produced were not God’s sons, for they are called sons as well. However, by virtue of his being the sole direct creation of his Father, the firstborn Son was unique, different from all others of God’s sons, all of whom were created or begotten by Jehovah through that firstborn Son. So “the Word” was Jehovah’s “only-begotten Son” in a particular sense,
Jesus is also “Mighty God” and “Eternal Father.” This does not mean that he usurps the authority and position of Jehovah, who is “God our Father.” (2 Corinthians 1:2) “He [Jesus] gave no consideration to a seizure, namely, that he should be equal to God.” (Philippians 2:6) He is called Mighty God, not Almighty God. Jesus never thought of himself as God Almighty, for he spoke of his Father as “the only true God,” that is, the only God who should be worshiped. (John 17:3;
Rev. 1:1; 3:14, RS: “The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him, why did God have to give the revelation to Jesus, if he is God? .
Does the Bible teach that none of those who are said to be included in the Trinity is greater or less than another, that all are equal, that all are almighty? Mark 13:32, RS: “Of that day or that hour no ones knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” (Of course, that would not be the case if Father, Son, and Holy Spirit were coequal, comprising one Godhead. And if, as some suggest, the Son was limited by his human nature from knowing, the question remains, Why did the Holy Spirit not know?)
John 14:28, RS: “[Jesus said:] If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I go to the Father; for the Father is greater than I.”
1 Cor. 11:3, RS: “I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a woman is her husband, and the head of Christ is God.” (Clearly, then, Christ is not God, and God is of superior rank to Christ. It should be noted that this was written about 55 C.E., some 22 years after Jesus returned to heaven.
A person who is really seeking to know the truth about God is not going to search the Bible hoping to find a text that he can construe as fitting what he already believes. He wants to know what God’s Word itself says. He may find some texts that he feels can be read in more than one way, but when these are compared with other Biblical statements on the same subject their meaning will become clear. It should be noted at the outset that most of the texts used as “proof” of the Trinity actually mention only two persons, not three; so even if the Trinitarian explanation of the texts were correct, these would not prove that the Bible teaches the Trinity.

No, you are not a lost cause. You are just having trouble with understanding the concept of faith. If you truly prayed for Jesus to come into your heart then He did. Sometimes you don't feel any different but as time goes on small changes start to occur. Just ask Jesus to help you in your unbelief. He will. If possible get involved with a Bible believing Church where you feel at home. God Bless.

No you are not a lost soul, but I am not going to make you beleive what I beleive if you've tried to understand it just doesn't happen. The effort is great, you have done more than most Christians have. All it takes to get in Heaven is live a good life and allow Christ into your heart, which you have. Finding it hard to beleive doesn't mean you are lost. And I also don't beleive that if you aren't Christian you go to Hell ... That is rediculous on it's own. God bless!

it's easy to believe. it's basically believing that God can be 3 separate people at once, and still be the same person. and do you believe God to be a liar? if not, you should just simply believe.
and the only lost causes are the atheists who have become completely desensitized to the Holy Spirit. You have a chance to plead with Him now.

The devil is like a roaring lion walking about seeking whom he may devour. You must find a church where there are people of the living God. A place where you can be built up and nurtured and grow in the Lord. You can't do it alone, the devil will destoy it everytime. It's like a new born baby who is not being fed, that baby will die. And so will you as a baby christian. If your sincere, find a holy ghost filled church where they are all wrapped up in God and not the things of this world.
