I would like a detailed plan for an overweight person. Like, walk 20 minutes 3 times per week? Is that enough?

What do you do? Where did you start?

Thanks!

In one word...slowly. I do not know what kind of shape you are in but 20 minutes may be too much if you have not been exercising. You may want to start off with 10 and add a min. each time. I know that this is slow but you will not work your body too hard and cause an injury. Be sure to stretch before and and after your workout.

On days that you workout a little harder, take a long hot bath before bed. If you need one, take a something ( like Tylenol) so you won't be sore the next day.

When I first started, I found that I was more tired until my body got over the shock and accepted the fact that I was exercising.
Now I feel better and I am able to sleep better too.

I hope that this helped.

Begin and end each workout with simple stretches. Do some aerobic activity for about twenty-thirty minutes, three times a week. Fast walking or jogging is good. Also lift weights three times a week.

Start with fruit.. Bananas and oranges work the best. POSITIVE and have that as your pre workout snack along with some water.. also remember this because it is a keyword and task that will help you.. ALTERNATE. jog for a few minutes then walk for a few minutes and then run for a few minutes.. keep alternating pace and it wont take long for those pounds to shed.

- and also break.. (agree with above too)
