Believe as you wish. I'll take the bible over our brilliant scientists that can come to no agreement on anything. All of the answers are there and within each of us.

Science always lags in schools. I raided the public libraries in the 50's and 60's reading several hundred books, but today there is the Internet. Public schools can't afford science teachers, and private schools are usually religious based and religions purposely limit science.
I taught my kids science and made trouble for the school board. The Ming Dynasty declared that they had all the answers centuries ago and the Chinese dropped into a science void. The British made the same assumption in the 1880s' but changed their mind when they discoverd that there was more to learn.
Today in the USA we rely on a few bright scientists to carry the load and 90% of the people are clueless.

Not if you believe in science. That book is obsolete, regardless of your religious beliefs (or lack thereof).
If your school really uses a 1920s science book, then it is a pathetic school. You should call and complain. Most schools in the United States have much more recent books that are pretty darned good. The ones that don't probably do not because of George Bush's awful "Every Child Left Behind" plan that takes away money from schools that really need it.

There is no biblical equivalence for science.
Science is pure and factual.
The bible, a product of MAN, created by man from stories told by man. It's man made, as well as all religion.
Faith is what makes the difference and strong faith acknowledges the difference.
Where the rub comes in is when Religious Leaders pass off the bible as absolute fact.
If you really are open minded and do your own research and study Bibical History - how the bible came to be... you will find it's nothing more then fables - stories, as told by man, repeated throughtout the history, until it was finally capture in writing (the sacred scrolls).

Ridiculous.
Science is so precious because it rejects arguments from authority - it makes it harder to learn and often you have to consider disagreeing theories but unlike religion there will be evidence to consider.

God invented science, so don't think you are so smart. He is the creator.
