The gnostics believe in the power of reasoning and intellect. Think! If you pay homage to a vengeful, mean god, what's that doing to your soul? Your behavior will reflect what you believe in, emulating what you worship and adhere to. You become a reflection of the god you adore, the god that you love. If your soul needs to fear, to hate, to be vengeful, and to worry about hellfire and damnation, than you worship the wrong god. You are then creating a vengeful, jealous god inside of you as well as outside of you.
I hope you will drop that strange god.

I love/believe in Jesus, and GOD, and the Holy Spirit, the Trinity. This is a path I am comfortable following.
I can't tell you if anyone following a different path is right or wrong, as I am me - and busy on my path; also I do not know them or their path.
Some good people are on some interesting paths, while others are on rather quiet paths - looking at them as I am from the outside.
As all paths lead to GOD, I let GOD decide how to address these differences. I am not capable of doing so.

Boy, do you have your theology absolutely wrong.
God is love.
He is the source of all things good.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son.
2 Chorinthians
Therefore if any man be in Christ He is a new creature. Old things are passed away behold all things become new.
I truly hope you'll read the Holy Bible starting perhaps in John to discover a God who sent His son. And that Son layed down His life for His friends.
Because what you have stated is just one complete misunderstanding, and basically an untruth.
I hope you discover the hand of the Living God
on your life before its too late.

The one that wrote The Sacred Gospel of the Mud Puddle on our hearts, you know, where the physical and Spiritual meet over there by the grass and trees. It's sad so many have forsaken this Sacred Gospel.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline. -Proverbs 1:7
Im afraid you have accepted a false Gospel and therefore a false idea of God. God is not conceptualized into what we want him to be, nor do we create him. He is the living God that created all and he has revealed himself through Jesus Christ.
Perhaps the reason that God seems so strange to you is that you are part of the world and do not know him?

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. AMEN.

Since God and Truth are the same thing then I would suggest using truth as your barometer, and not religious doctern.
