You could look at Infiniti - Nissan's luxury performance division or perhaps a high end Acura - Honda's luxury division.
Lexus is just as good. I would stay away from the Cadillacs.

BMW, Audi, Mercedes are the benchmark for luxury but they do tend to be expensive to fix if broken.
Lexus' are overpriced at the used level. And up until the last year or two, Lexus really was just a Toyota with different interiors. (read: over priced Toyota).
Cadillac and Lincoln would be a good choice. A used Cadillac CTS or STS would save you tons of cash by taking advantage of depreciation rates on American cars.

Besides, used BMWs and Lexus’s are drastically overpriced because import admirers have an unrealistic appreciation of their value. You always hear them say things like “They run forever.”, ya right, think about that
