A flu is a severe viral infection, characterized by high fever, headache, fatigue and weakness, chest discomfort. It is different from a cold in that you don't always have a stuffy nose. But it can lead to pneuomonia if not treated properly. With the flu, you must rest, or you can get sicker and get pneumonia. A cold is much milder and many people can function with a cold.
