put the pill as far back on your tongue as possible. Then start guzzling water.
I used to be a little weirded out by swallowing my allergy pills also, but then one day I decided I'd get up the guts to just throw it in and swallow...I'm pretty sure I started off drinking a lot of water though so that I could get it down and I can remember a few times where it'd swish around in my mouth instead of going down so I just kept trying.
You can do all the other tricks to take a pill, but it messes with the effect a little.
Crunching them up or disolving them in water means they can't be regulated into your bloodstream like they would if they disolved by stomache acids. Which means you'll have a burst of allergy relief, but it won't last very long.

I also have allergies and hate to take my pills. But in order to feel better I must, So I take a spoonful of jelly and bury the pill in it and I make sure I have a large glass of water and I take the pill and if I don't swallow it with the jelly I keep drinking and try not to think what I'm doing. I've done this for years, now I just take it and don't even think about it. You can do it, just don't think of the choking, just think what this is going to do for you.

I had the same fear of swallowing pills too. However, my dad taught me how to do it the easy way. Just put the pill way back on the back part of your tongue and take a big gulp of water. The pill will go down easy and you won't even know it. Now I am no longer scared to choke on a pill.

This is anxiety (I'm afraid of choking, too). Is it pills? Is it food? Perhaps both?
If the pill is coated, then there is no reason to worry.
Try pointing it down your throat like a rocket (aka vertical).
Have a lot of water ready so you know you'll never run out when swallowing. It's a pain when you do, and you'll most likely gag without enough water.
Take it in front of a mirror, so you know *exactly* where it is.

It'd be pretty hard to choke on a pill. I have four big supplements and I take them all at once with a mouthful of water and have never ever even begun to choke.
This is in your mind. Just take the pills with a glass of water. You'll be fine.

If you can break it in half. If it's a capsule then just drink water, take it, and drink a lot more.
If you are scared, you are more likely to have problems swallowing. Just be confident. ^^ I'm sure your throat's big enough to take it. I've never choked on a pill before.

I don't think you will choke on them. Once I swallowed two vitamin pills together and they got stuck in my throat. It felt weird and gross, but I could breathe. Eventually they dissolved enough to go down and then I was fine. Don't worry, this is the worst that can happen and it won't hurt you.

No dear, the chance s of choking on a pill if you do it correctly is like 2/10..don't worry yourself too much,,,maybe for the first time you can try to cut the pill in half first and try swallowing on them .if you succeed, slowly then try 3/4 and later the whole pill. This is what i do for my kids during their first times of consuming medicine.hope it works.have a nice day.

I used to have this fear, but I realized it was just in my mind. You can try putting the pill in a glass of water and just drinking it down. After you do it once, it should be an easy task.
Hope that helped.
