Does God eat and drink? Use the restroom? Smile, frown? Does he have emotional issues sometimes?
If he's just a "presence"...then what does it mean that we were created in his image?

We are made in His Image in many ways. We can LOVE, a quality which is the very being of God. We have eternal souls, unique to only God, Angels, and man. Though we may not look like God physically, our souls are made in His image and likeness. We are called to reflect the very beauty of God.

And if you look at the second Person of God, Jesus Christ, you can see that God does eat and drink and smile and frown. God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) was three persons from the very start; and even in His resurrected and glorified Body we see Jesus eating fish with his apostles immediately after the resurrection. Perhaps He was trying to show us something?

God Bless!

I would imagine that God has alot of emotion about the last 2000 years or so. Our history reads like this: Short periods of peace while waiting for the next war to start. Don't think he needs to eat or drink though and since he doesn't, no need for a restroom.

His image: What he would look like if we could see him, like us.

We have a brain and do not move by instinct. God is a spirit creature and doesn't eat or drink or rest. Because he doesn't have a human body. But he is a spirit person who felt regret in the days before the flood. Felt hurt at his heart. Not having a heart but knowing we would understand that.
Animals that he created first do not contemplate the future. Save part of their dog food for tomorrow. Or say I will grow up and have children and raise them to be good hunters.
We have free will.(1 Corinthians 15:50) 50 However, this I say, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit God’s kingdom, neither does corruption inherit incorruption.

(1 Corinthians 15:40-41) . . .heavenly bodies, and earthly bodies; but the glory of the heavenly bodies is one sort, and that of the earthly bodies is a different sort. 41 . . .

Are you "aware" when you are getting angry? The awareness isn't the anger right? That awareness is what some call God. Pure awareness without a body, everything is an emanation of God though. You might read The Gnostic Gospels by Elaine Pagels, this might help.

You need to check out your Bible. Adam was made in the image of God but when he sin his image changed now he started to die. His sons and daughter now have the image of Adam not God. Genesis 5: 3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth: Romans 5: 12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

I can't personally answer that question but I have always wondered something along the same line as your question.

If we were made in his image. Why does the bible promote a cutting off of a certain male part of the anatomy. If we were made in his image shouldn't every bit be important.

His image refers to the image of the human side of God, Jesus Christ. And yes Jesus ate and drank, smiled, frowned and even went potty

The image of his spirit, our auras, display the feelings, emotions of our souls.
God has thoughts, smiles, laughs, cries, happy, God expresses what he feels, he is sensitive. God's capacity to love, and hurt is much greater than ours.
Our souls are the thoughts of God.... God creates with his thoughts, and gives life with his breath...... YES, we are created in his image.
P.s. With our thoughts we create the energy around us if negative or positive. We have the power to heal, power from within, and or from prayers.

Jesus is human as well as God. The human attribute of which you speak would certainly have applied to Jesus when he was on Earth. I don't know how His glorified body operates now.

But since Jesus was God, and He looked like a human, we are made in His image.
