Im going to the UK in july and wanted to know some good places to visit. I really want to go to London and Edinburgh, but is there anything that is a must? I love neat food places and old castles and things like that. Any suggestions? I'll be 16 going with my parents and a friend.

My son and I were there in August. In Edinburgh, you MUST go to the Vaults and the Real Mary King's Close. Fascinating and spooky! We also went to the city of York, very creepy--it's been called England's most haunted city. Go to Edinburgh Castle, too.

In London, we visited St. Paul's Cathedral; I got to walk the path Diana did when she married Charles. Her funeral also was held there. And ride the Tube!

Have fun! You'll love it!

The changing of the Queens guards and Big Ben were the two things that really impressed me. We also go a tour of one of the Castles. You can't use your flash on your camera inside of the castle though.. Have fun

If you like to rent old houses, then I suggest you go to Landmark Trust. They buy VERY old houses all over the country and restore them. I recently stayed in a thirteenth century abbey in Bedfordshire (about an hour and a half from central London) and it was great - there were lots of old fashioned pubs and walks and churches and such like.
