Check this if you feel sensitive when you drink cold or hot fluids, or if you eat something sweet, then it will probably be a cavity. Go see a dentist because if it is a cavity you want to take care of it before it becomes a root canal.

Ask your dentist, you shouldn't be feeling pain. And if it only happens with certain foods it probably doesn't have anything to do with saliva.

Perhaps you have a cavity.

Check in the mirror, before and after you eat. Is there redness or swelling?

If there is, check with a dentist immediatly. Either way.
