My dog (lab/chow mix) will be 1 yr. old in March, and is about 36 pounds right now. Our vet says he's healty and looks good; even though he is small for his age. I'm lookin at an apartment that won't allow labs due to their size, but he's so small. My question is, how big will he get being that he'll be a year next month; and labs usually reach their size at a year.

I also have a lab chow mix, and at 4 months old, he's now at 26 lbs. so, i'm pretty sure mine is going to be huge! But if yours is only 36 lbs. at a yr old, then chances are, he won't get much bigger.... Maybe another 10 lbs or so

Normal dogs take about 2 years to fully grow but at a year they are about 85 to 90% of there full height after the year to 18 month mark they normally fill out not up so i would say add about an inch to 3 inches at the most and about 10 pounds give or take I had a lab chow mix and she didn't get very big but that doesn't mean your wont.

If he is only about 36 lbs now, I'd bet he will stay under 45 lbs. If you are looking for an apartment, tell them the dog is a mixed breed - that's the truth and the dog weighs about 40lbs now.

"Lab and Chows are about the same size 50-80 pounds is about average, labs are playful, friendly dogs, while chows tend to be more reserved"
