The problem is EVERYONE has regrets in life. When people are spending their final moments in life, they dont think about all the things theyve bought, or all the cool places theyve been. They think about other people and what they couldve done differently.
Christians would be happy in a way because our work here is done in this life. But in another sense, if we had things that were left undone or families we're leaving behind, then its a very sad moment. Death is bittersweet for a believer but we do have the ultimate comfort in knowing that we have done the right thing in life and can go to a better place!

both. if i were on a plane that i knew was going to crash, i would not just have one emotion. i would have many.
1. joy that i was about to meet Jesus.
2. sadness that i was about to say goodbye to family and friends (even if only for the present) and although many cynics out there will scoff, i would also be sad that i could not be a witness for christ.
3. scared--who wouldn't be? but i hope that in my fear i would still lean towards God and let him give me strength.
4. grateful--no i'm not kidding. my greatest fear is that i will either die by a very long, painful, and drawn out method, like torture, or that i will have to watch someone die that way, especially someone i love. i would be glad that i would die instantly
5. nervous--hello, i'm about to meet the Guy who loved me enough to take my place and die so I wouldn't have too--BEFORE I WAS EVEN BORN!!!
6. impatient--whats worse, actually being in surgery or dreading it before it happens? u no the feeling?
7. mad--i may not have wanted to leave earth yet.
8. i would definitely need to use the restroom and/or change my pants. lol. jk but as you can see, i wouldn't have just one emotion. also, this kind of question is hard to answer because it's the kind of situation that you don't truly know how you would react until it happens to you. however, i pray that i would not lose sight of my faith, and that the Lord would help me through it and give me the peace to lend to those around me. and if you aren't a christian, you may scoff, but I promise you on my life, if you have accepted Christ and you know Him personally, when you are afraid, all you have to do is ask Him to take away your worry and give you peace. and you have to really want to stop worrying about something. it can't be like a relief from worry. but that peace i told u about? yeah, it's pretty much the BEST feeling in the world, after the realization that someone loved and valued u enough to DIE for you.

I would have to say that's a tough one.
I would feel both.
Sad that I was going to leave this earth and my children. Sad I didn't accomplish everything.
Happy b/c I would finally see my maker. Happy b/c I would finally go to heaven and have eternal peace.
That's my flesh talking however.
My heart says I would pray. If my time wasn't to go then I just might be the one person to survive. (which has happened, ever wonder why?) I believe that if its not my time to go and if I had more to do here on this earth, I wouldn't perish. It all comes down to his will. I believe my emotions would be out of it, but I would have to say with a clear head not propositioned by it at the moment, his will would be what I would want to have happen.
God Bless
Good Question
I'm serious

There should be no fear in death itself, an eternity passed before you were born and you have no recolection of any of it. Death will be the same. The only fear would be the fear of pain in the moment before death. X'ians place great happyness in thinking they are going to have some sort of afterlife and this is counter productive to life. Why do anything here when this is just a rest stop on the way to some made up final reward. This is why most fundies dont care about the environment. The free thinking people of the earth have to be the ones that are going to save the planet from the people who place faith in fairy tales.

As a Christian, THE purpose of my being here is to help others accept Christ and end up in Heaven. I'm only 46, so if I died today that means I missed about 100 more years of helping others accept Christ. That's alot of people that I'd be leaving behind - and for that I would be sad.
When I was 7 years old, and we were moving from our old rent house into a brand new house, I was so excited... until the day came when it dawned on me that we were not going to take our neighbors with us. That part hurt.

Seriously, I am sad for the people who will mourn for me. I am sad for the fact that I will no longer have a life with them. And I am sad for the all the folks on the plane who will be mourned by their loved ones and who may have rejected Jesus...
But on a personal level, that is why I have no fear of flying. I know that if the plane goes down, I will, indeed, be with Jesus, and that is reason to be very happy and hopeful. I LOVE flying, because I have absolutely no fears about whether the plane will stay up or not... for the sake of all who are flying with me, I pray for a safe trip... but as for me, if we land, great. If we crash, fine.
It's a win-win situation for me.

The future prospect not withstanding the door of death and any physical pain is never pleasant. Nor is leaving loved ones or unfinished business. Also one does not know for sure the result would be death but could leave a long life of misery. Heaven is a great hope but crashing in a plane I'll skip thank you.

Well I think I'd be a little scared of the pain that I'm going to feel when it crashes, and I would be sad that I wouldnt see my family anymore but I would definitely be happy because I'm gonna be with my Lord for ever and ever...and I wouldnt remember the crash anyway after I get to Heaven.

It is not as simple as the feeling of happiness or sadness.
For a true believer death on the bed or on air crash is the same joy to return to God.
But your example suggests a complicated occasion: it depends on who are on the planes, what he brings along on the plane for other people, the important plan to implement at the destination, the condition of his family, his friends at home. In such case, I think I better pray to be calm at any divine Will on High.

Well, I would not fear because I would be absent in body and present in the Lord. Yes, being with the Lord would be joyous. Knowing what was about to happen, I would be sad also for those who potentially were not saved.
