Well you should make sure nobody owns it as they might be heartbroken.
You can take the cat in as long as it gets along with your other 2.

I also had two cats until I got my third and he was a stray. He is the most loving and affectionate cat ever. I feel like he really appreciates the love. Just watch out for feeding time. If the cat was starving there could be some problems. One them is overeating, the other is aggression. Just take the cat to the vet before introducing the cats. Strays carry lots of illnesses. After the tests come back clearing the cat slowly introduce them and good luck.

If it truly is a stray and you are thinking of keeping him, get him to the vet and have him checked out. You don't want to be bringing any communicable diseases into the house for your other cats to catch. If he gets a clean bill of health, you'll have to segregate him from the other cats and start to introduce them slowly. This could take a couple of weeks depending on your cats (and in some cases, some cats never warm up to having a new cat in the house).

I have included a link to a site that will break down how to introduce your new cats to the resident cats.

Good luck!!

Did you check the neighborhood to see if anyone was missing one? Ask yourself this: does the cat look sick? Are you financially able and have the time to care and feed 3 cats? Do your current cats get jealous easily or fight for the attention? Older they are the less likely they will be accepting of a new kitty in the household, but definately get it checked out medically before bringing it into you and your cat's world. There are too many silent diseases killing off kitties these days and most are brought by strays.

Usually anyone who has more than 2 cats becomes known as the "crazy cat lady" (or man). Why not check the policy of the animal shelter near you. I know that our shelter DOES NOT EVER put healthy animals to sleep. If the shelter has too many animals to handle then they ship some off to another area of the province that is low on animals at that time. The shelters also advertise on the local channels and in newspapers, TV guides, etc, with pictures of both cats and dogs up for adoption. So taking this little stray to a shelter is not necessarily a death sentence - and this may be the perfect little pet for another family. Good luck.

I'm in this same predicament, except I found 2 kittens and I already have a puppy and 2 full grown cats. I say, if you keep the kitten longer than a week, you're going to get attached. Find a home quickly or integrate. It'll take a week or 2 for everyone to get comfortable, but once they do, it's not fair to pull the "family" apart...

since you have two other cats i would say no dont keep it. unless you want to see alot of battles going on. cats are more territorial than dogs and im sure your cats would have a fit if you brought a strange cat into the home. when was 12 a starnge cat got in our house through our basement and my oldest cat must have smelled him becasue she darted down the stares and chased the cat up the stares and around the house. and the just recently i brought home my new dog and the cats went bazzerk. not becasue they are afraid becasue they will and have taken on a dg before. they started marking their territory everywhere. even on his bed! so either find someone who would want the cat or take it to a nice shelter.

first
put up posters and pamphlets 2 make sure that u dont take someone elses kat!
then,
if noone says anything,
take her 2 ur vet and have her checked out 2 make sure that she doesnt have fleas or anything.
we did that and ended up with us having a new cat!
in the mean time,
take a old blanket and put it in like a old cage that ur other cats use 2 go 2 the vet!
i hope that that helps!
please put me as ur best answer!
i really need the points!

My Suggestion is if you want it I would take it to the vet and get it all it's shots and check for any diseases so it's safe for all your other cats to be around. If you do not want this cat, then I would take it to an animal shelter !

call local shelters and see if a cat with that discription has been reported lost. if it is a true stray i am sure it knows how to take care of its self. why risk giving your 2 a kitty illness if its sick?
