If you are considering a liquid diet, you should try blending your own fruits and vegetables instead of using V8 and Smoothies.
First of all, you would receive about 500 times the amount of sodium every day from manufactured drinks.
Secondly, manufactured drinks are always cooked. Cooking can destroy many vitamins and minerals you need.
Third, some manufactured drinks also have preservatives.

Consider using a food processor, juicer, or blender; buy only organic or low-insecticide covered fruits and vegetables; wash the raw fruits and vegetables well before cutting up for processing; blend well and add flavorings if you wish, such as vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon, celery salt, garlic, and honey.

The more fresh, raw, and natural you can get, the better your intake of vitamins and minerals will be.

You need the benefit of fiber from the veggies. I see the ads for juice machines (I have one -- haven't used it in years), but just using the juice eliminates the healthy fiber. It takes a lot of veggies or fruit to make one glass of juice (and then there is all the wasted fiber left over.) Even with the bottled juice, we are still missing fiber.

So, get a mix of healthy juice and veggies and fruit in the whole form. A whole orange is a bit healthier than orange juice (not as much sugar, and the pulp is good for us.)

My take is
all other things aside you are dieting and the big dirty word here is sugar.
Now granted that The USDA recommends 2-4 servings of fruit per day and 3-5 servings of veggies per day.
You are probably going to spike your sugar levels through the roof.

EXAMPLE:
A: One serving of fruit 1/2 an orange--Good for you
B: One Glass of orange juice takes about 4-6 whole oranges to make one 8oz glass.

That is more than double your daily intake for the day. per the USDA regulations.

Can you say diabetic...

Protein, calcium, Vitamin D, and all sorts of minerals and other nutrients. You would need to take supplements, multi-vitamins and minerals, drink protein shakes, and get some carbs--even if minimal.

At least people who drink Slim-Fast or Ensure are getting a whole day's supply of vitamins and minerals. And, even with Slim-Fast, they tell you to eat one "normal" meal per day. That meal can consist mostly of veggies and fruits, but a small amount of protein and carbs is essential.

It's not going to kill you if you only do it for a week or so, but much beyond that--you are really endangering your health.

All of the fibre is missing, and fibre is essential.

However, why are you one a liquid diet? If it's for a medical problem, you need to discuss all of this with your doctor and your registered dietitian. If you're doing it to lose, weight, then stop now, as is simply not a healthy way to do so,
