Sorry I don't know much on the topic so I might be asking the wrong question Does anyone have a good link to the topic of things causing retinal detatchment and their symptoms?.. and does having a picture take of your retina at a checkup show these things? Thanks so much.

That is the reason for hte MD looking in your eye. IF your opthamologist has the ability to take the pictures even better.
Every appointment the eye doc looks at your retina and your macula.
Macular degeneration is caused by diseases affecting the blood flow to small vessels, like diabetes.
Retinal detachment can be caused by disease or head injury.

Why do you think your retina is detaching?

It depends on what state you live in and what the laws are for that state. Pot stays in your system for 30-45 days, it stores in fat cells and since you said you're over-weight there's a good chance it's not gonna just go away! My advice is to drink lots and lots of water between now and your appt and on the day of your appt drink a minimum of 1/2 gallon of water before you go...A normal check up is usually just that (they're checking for different levels to make sure there isn't any infections etc.) they probably will ask for a urine sample to check different things (not necessarily drugs) but if you live in a zero tolerance state such as FL then yes you will be tested for drugs. you can be honest and tell your doctor "Off the record, I took a couple hits off a joint a few days ago" and maybe your doc will be understanding...you're 15 and there's that HIPPA law which ensures confidentiality between the doctor and patient! Hope it helps....don't stress it, or you could say that you were at a friends party and there was awesome brownies and you found out later that they were *funny* brownies! ;) Good luck!
